Hatton, any Chance of beating PBF?

At Welterweight, no he really doesn't have a great chance. He's too easy to hit when he tries to smother someone, and he knows he'd have to get inside on Floyd. The only problem is, he'd be absorbing a tremendous amount of clean punishment, and I don't think he'd be able to see in the later rounds.

His eyes swelled up really bad from getting hit by Collazo....and I'd say Floyd is a much harder, cleaner puncher. It's a really bad mismatch.

At Jr Welterweight....Hatton is quicker, and takes less time to get inside. He also throws more lead left hooks...and could make the fight interesting.

I think Hatton has a shot to make it close at Jr Welter....and perhaps win on one of the judges scorecards, and give people a chance to cry "robbery"

    But not at Welter.

If he stays at 140 now, gets in a few fights to get sharp, and makes the Mayweather fight in under 12 months then I believe he has the ability to run Mayweather close. The more I think of it, the less likely I believe Hatton would beat Mayweather by jumping on him. I'd like to see Hatton start using some of his old boxing skills again, the last time we really saw his 'boxing' skills was the Tackie fight. I honestly think that Hatton the Boxer can give Mayweather a closer fight than being a non-stop swarmer. Hatton definately needs to use his smarts and tools if he wants to run Mayweather close, the more I think of it.

And take no notice of the Collazo fight because Hatton entered that ring at 160lbs! It was a laughing stock!

        At 140 I say his chances are 25% at 147 1%.

I honestly don't see it being "close" whether it was fought at 140 or 147.

I actually think he has a better chance of beating PBF at WW than jrWW. Not that I think he would win either way. Hatton benefits more from going up in weight (power and ability to take a punch) than PBF does. PBF punches would have more power and pop at 140lbs than at 147lbs. Floyd had excellent power at 135 and less so at 140 and even less at 147lbs.

Hatton's team has even said as much. Hattons trainer has said that they would like to fight PBF at 147lbs and in that same interview they said that they wouldn't fight Cotto at 147lbs but would fight him at 140lbs.

Gatti would beat Hatton at 147, you think PBF wouldn't?
