what people dont like is disproportionate hype. Putting him in mythical match ups with trinidad and hearns is one example. His win against bundu got overhyped like mad. Youer doing what you do with other fighters, start comparing fighters by 'who beat the bum quicker'. Just think americans are pinning their hopes on spence as the new, exciting megastar, and are so desperate for him to be it that they are making out hes one before hes even fought anyone. If spence was a different nationality he wouldnt have got 10 percent of the hype hes getting. Plenty of prospects who are at his stage in every division.

Well they got mention in the same post because Floyd did... I haven't seen anyone demanding this fight though and everything I read so far already accept the fact that Davis is not in Loma league. It's logical though to expect a champion and have the nerve to call yourself a champ then people expect you to take on all challengers.

A poll asking who you think would win between Spence/Hearns isn't the same as saying Spence is an ATG and ranks ahead of Hearns.

My bad on the statement about you but I still stand on Davis point. I haven't seen anyone calling for that fight on this forum and everyone seems to acknowledge he isn't ready. Even the quote you provided about Davis on the first post acknowledged that he isn't ready for Loma just that he can't avoid competition while defending his belt.

Every time a young fighter steps up and delivers a solid performance, people turn it into a negative. Several examples (i name names unlike others)

Gervonta Davis, a 22 year old delivers in his first step up fight. Instead of giving Davis credit for winning his first title, several people feel the need to bring up Lomachenko:




Errol Spence has impressed in his young professional career. Many fans want to see him step up and face the top fighters like Kell Brook and Keith Thurman. Instead of embracing these enticing matchups. We have people saying stuff like this:







That's just two examples but I can list a few more. Is losing to a Lomachenko or a Brook really a terrible loss that would make these fighters hype jobs? Why do boxing fans always feel that it is necessary to turn positives into negatives?

Delusions of grandeur. I was called out before Spence fought Algieri for saying I believed he was already a top 10 welterweight and potentially the future of the division. Go and check.

The thing is not whether he does well or not, the thing is he gets an average win and wholly in those fights makes a lot of mistakes that someone like you can't see, but the rest of us can and better believe someone like Brook will take advantage of that.

I think with these 2 fighters specifically it is because they are promoted by Floyd and managed by Haymon. Any success they have is seen as success for Floyd and Haymon, 2 people they want to see lose at anything.

Added to this, they have seen GGG, Loma and others they like criticized so they feel the need to "even things up" by doing same.
