with all due respect, that comparison is blasphemy. Morales and Barrera were 2 elite fighters at the top of their games who took on all comers. Neither Canelo or Chavez Jr fit that bill. This fight won't come anywhere near that type of skill level or excitement.

If Junior can spar and be strong with stamina at 170 two weeks out he can get to 164.5 without to much stress.
If he is sparring at 175+ 2 to 3 weeks out he will have trouble shedding to make weight and remain strong.
Canelo is the superior boxer and fighter but Junior has a good punch and Canelo hasn't fought anyone that could punch.

It's hard to believe that Junior is getting this fight because of his limited skills but that why Canelo feels ok, we know Junior will draw buyers.

It would be a shame if Chavez Jr did not have his legendary father in his corner, for some reason he doesn't want his dad giving him opinions on how to fight, it doesn't make any sense when the man is mexico's biggest Legend

Man, I don't know what to believe anymore. These promoters all point fingers at each other and shout "liar!" like a bunch of little kids on a playground.

Junior lacks discipline and dedication. Period. Combine this with the drain strategy, and Canelo's usual favorably biased judges, and Chavez has NO CHANCE. Nada.

But I'm OK with this if it means Canelo is preparing for Golovkin. Which he isn't, but.
