golovkin knocks out degale with a brutal body shot.degale has terrible stamina it seems like he's hanging on by a thread in the late rounds while ggg keeps on coming. ggg also beats jack.

          Golovkin beats him.

DeGale gasses halfway through every fight, that lean forward thing he always does is a disaster waiting to happen and he is not difficult to hit. He doesn't have any power to hold guys off either.

Yep. This latest fight will have caused significant wear and tear so a canny matchmaker can pivot off that.

I can't believe that for a SMW unification they got paid so little - $750K for DG and 700K for Jack. It's hard to criticise Khan and Brook for stepping up for huge paydays. I just hope that DG gets a decent payday before he retires - he deserves it on heart alone. Ditto Salido and similar.

I think those are only partial amounts of their actual purse, probably to save them from the outrageous taxes. DeGale's never fought for less than a mill since joining Haymon.

I agree though, DeGale took a lot of damage last night, much worse than vs Medina. Even the Bute fight he took worse wear than Jack did vs Bute (but Bute was working full time with Memo for DeGale). I think he has to fight his IBF mando - Uzecategui next? If he rematches Groves, I think both will have been significantly degraded since their first fight.

haymon would never do anything illegal. plus that was in pounds not dollars so he made about a million dollars.

I think most promoters do that. I remember a story that came out with TR doing that for Hopkins/Dela Hoya, where they said Hopkins got $5mill for the fight, but behind the scenes TR paid him another $5-10mill for his 'likeness'. That money wasn't subject to a lot of taxes and org fees. The IBF sued b/c they felt short-changed.
