How was this an upset? Because somebody overrated the eastern european Khytrov. This is why you have to make your own opinions about these fighters. And if you don't know the level of these fighters then go in neutral. This wasn't an upset.Comment

He was a solid amateur, a member of the same Olympic amateur team with Lomachenko and Uysk among others. But he was always a weak link and never took things as seriously as he should have.Comment

I was impressed with Aleem - somehow overlooked him up til now but I've YTd a few of his fights this a.m and he's a decent looking prospect. I was expecting more from Khytrov but his defensive liabilities have been apparent since his pro debut and I been saying as much.
02-06-14Definitely needs to show a bit more defence - you can see very much of the amateur 'hit more than get hit' in there but the kid can obviously **** a bit, good pressure, up and down well. Leaves himself in danger zones a little too long....but hey, second fight? I ain't gonna fuss..it's a big step into the pros and it's a promising start.
Do you know what he's doing for trainers? Have they taken a US trainer or stopped with his am team - or a bit of both?Comment

Derevyanchenko is also nothing special. But yes Khytrov is overrated and even a non-puncher like Aleem dropped him twice and stopped him.Imagine what GGG or Lemieux would have done with Khytrov.LMAO!
This was a guy who was supossedly going to be a trouble for GGG or Canelo in the future?
Well................there it goes, Khytrov has gone from a serious prospect to a just decent fighter
Derevyanchenko and Brant are the only hope left for a ****ty MW division, let's see how this goes.Comment

Surprised with Aleem and disappointed with Khytrov. Khytrov had similar fights with Melendez, Brinson, Coley, and Chatman, but he simply walked through their storms to finish them. Last night he finally hit the wall. If he's not damaged, he can still be an exciting top 10 MW, but he's showing that he won't evolve.
Aleem now becomes an interesting prospect, maybe picking up where Antoine Douglass left off? He's just 23 y.o. so hopefully they don't rush him too much. But if they do - I'd like to see Dereveyanchenko get revenge for Khytrov.Comment
