    On May 6th, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) will face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32 KOs) in a showdown of Mexican stars. For weeks the two sides were negotiating the terms and finally reached an agreement on Friday. The fight will be carried by HBO Pay-Per-View, and the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas or AT&T Stadium in Texas will play host.

              Canelo reached joke status to me when he ducked Golovkin to fight Khan and then that other bum.

              Chavez Jr is washed up at this point and has never beaten anybody anyway.

                I don't love the fight, and I won't buy it, but I could see the appeal for the Mexican fanbase. That said, this fight needed to be at 168lb. Chavez is going to look like death. Even if he manages to get down to 164.5, which I don't know his body will allow, he will be a shell of himself. A few good body punches will end the fight after being drained like that. The ironic part is Canelo is already going around saying he is the one taking the risk by jumping up in weight. In reality he will have a huge advantage.
