Well if Connor is, how about you offer him more than what he made to fight Pac.
Hell, make an offer equal to what Pac made

But that will change if Joshua beats Klitschko and then Wilder. He'll be a bigger star than Floyd, Pac and McGregor combined.
I'm not a fan of Joshua but it could be argued he's the biggest thing in boxing right now, or almost. He's doing something like 600k PPV's against the likes of Molina. Floyd and Manny wouldn't do those numbers now against that level of opposition but obviously those guys have done it over a sustained period and achieved a lot more... but current numbers suggest he might be the most popular fighter in boxing, it just happens to be in UK not USA so it's not spoken about as much.
As for Floyd being an international superstar, well i'd say he's just as well known globally as Manny because those guys are basically synonymous with each other and always will be. The difference is Manny was actually more supported and Floyd was more disliked, generally speaking.
Conor is bigger than both right now, his stardom is huge and has arguably crossed over to the "casual" market more than either Floyd or Manny did but again, those guys did it over a longer period of time and social media was nowhere near the force it is now when those guys were coming through, so Conor has the advantage of gaining his popularity in an era where you can be on peoples screens every day.
McGregor is a bigger thing in sports than Mayweather right now, and i say that as i guy that probably prefers Floyd. The only problem is that Floyd was earning huge money, a lot more than Conor and it would be hard to justify paying Floyd like 10x more than Conor in relation to their popularity, but then why should Floyd accept less money for a HUGE event than he could earn coming back and fighting an average contender. He would be selling himself short in context.Last edited by deathofaclown; 01-14-2017, 03:20 PM.

Bringing in 50% of the fans but taking a 10% purse split. I want what you're smoking.

McGregor probably does have more fans than Floyd but more people watch and know Floyd.
You say Floyd's opponent are playing a part in the PPV, which of course is true. Just like every other star.
But the numbers are so high because Mayweather is involved.

McGregor is trending higher on all social media RIGHT NOW, in terms of most viewed videos on major networks in the U.S, youtube videos, twitter engagement, instagram, facebook, the lot.
the UFC is a much more international sport than boxing, hence his following and therefore his international fame and popularity simply exceeds anything Mayweather has done.
I mean, the proof is in the pudding. Mayweather is obviously buying a load of fake followers etc etc or his followers simply don't care about him as much as McGregor's do - Either way, proves McGregor's popularity is higher.
Plus, Mayweather wasn't that popular anyway. He was a good promoter, but he was never super popular with boxing fans or fans in general.
Once again, we're not talking about who can sell most PPVs, even though McGregor's last 4 evens have done 1.3, 1.5, 1.65 & 1.4 - With his gates also rivalling Mayweather's. And who has he sold these PPVs against? The likes of Jose Aldo, Nate Diaz and Eddie Alvarez - Hardly household names.
We've seen time and time again when Mayweather has to carry a PPV card - like against Berto or Maidana, he has a hard time cracking 1 million.
Also you are wrong about who has been trending more as of late. The past few days the name Floyd Mayweather Jr. was trending on Facebook not McGregor even though the talk has been about the both of them fighting.
And Floyd did over one million buys with the likes of Victor Ortiz and Shane Mosley. If you add up Mayweather's last 5 fights and McGregors last five fights Mayweather's numbers still exceed McGregors by nearly 2 million buys.
I get that you're a McGregor fan but stop being so biased!
