She lobbied for WBC #1 ranking and a purse bid....got both....then ran.

Team Kova are the ones scare.

Stevenson fought Bellew and Kovalev decimated Sillakh in Canada on the same card. This was done to build up their fight on HBO.
Stevenson jumped ship to Showtime.

This is before the Infamous WBC purse bid money grab a year before they'd fight

Stevenson makes sense, but if the reality is that Ward can't get more money I believe he'll settle for the same money. Rematch is going to happen.

And he can't fight any other fighter before Kovalev. Therefore his only choices are to fight Kovalev or retire! I think his delay is to get a better contract with Roc Nation!

no idea really..... but Ward will not avoid that fight, or any other fight for that matter..... he is not cut that way

I suspect that he will (rightly or wrongly) be treated like a king during the buildup to the rematch..... as-in, star billing, red carpet, introduced/treated as the champion, etc, etc.....
