Why can't Kovalev take the fight if Haymon won the purse bid? Is he under a slave contract that he willingly signed? How can you support a fighter that intentionally limits his options? He was a free agent after the Mohameddi fight and intentionally resigned with HBO instead of fighting Stevenson first. He intentionally signed a contract knowing it would prevent the fight from happening. That is the definition of ducking. He didn't duck because he was scared, he ducked because he's Duva's slave.

Forget Duva, guys that were making low 5 figures not long ago are not passing on exclusive contracts with boxings premier network.

because he has a contract that says so. all he did was buy himself insurance.

how did he know stevenson would turn down the same exact deal? stevenson was haymon's puppet. any good manager would have accepted a 50-50 split on hbo ppv for their fighter. how was kovalev supposed to know that haymon was going to sabotage stevenson's career?

The rematch will happen. To this day, no one can tell me a person who Ward has ducked. He won't start now. He isn't retiring and we will know about the fight soon enough.

Second, because Pacman is fighting in April, Ward-Kov probably won't happen until June to avoid HBO conflict. Why do negotiations need to start 5 months prior? It doesn't.

Third, Duva is waiting on Roc Nation, not necessarily Ward. The two promoters need to hash out certain things outside of what the individual fighters need to get figured out. No need to start bashing Ward for getting victories over every opponent he has faced sense he was 12 years old. He has nothing to do with certain things that Roc Nation and Main Events have to hash out. We all should relax until March. If there's no progress, then hit the panic button....

so ward should offer kovalev a 50-50 split? cause thats what kovalev did to stevenson after the purse bid that he couldnt win. purse bid was also 50-50 so not sure how thats a duck. stevenson is the one who didnt fight. ward wont even fight kovalev after getting 5 million.

kovalev and duva dont get to break ties then come back and say 50-50 when they need pascal and bhop to do numbers..stevenson did 10k in cananda with bellew..

they begged for the bid and pulled out wats next..u going to beg them to negotiate on your terms and then pull out...u think they can just keep fraying relationships and get wat they want? they should have been sued for slander/def of character for ther bs..and for false advertisement by the fans..i just may try that the next time a fighter pulls this BS ***** stuff.

kovalev offered stevenson 50-50 after pulling out of the purse bid. the purse bid was for 50-50. how is that ducking? please answer with something that makes sense instead of making up hypotheticals like "but they could have made more money if haymon had won" since you know kovalev couldn't take the fight if haymon won. also why did kovlev offer the same 50-50 split to stevenson if he was ducking? also another question why was stevenson willing to accept 50-50 before but not now?

Stevenson used Kovalev's HBO contract to duck out of fighting him 3 times and everybody knows it.

kov didnt have an hbo contract..he re-signed with hbo once it became apparent he would not be winning the purse bid that he just so happen to beg for...please stop protecting the bs..it has created race bs..it has pushed hate in the wrong direction..they are both good fighters but when kov has support after this and stevenson has hate it just problematic for me to get down with anybody that wont accept the facts.

the only thing signing the hbo deal was give stevenson a way out, it didnt kill it and stevenson took the way out but you aren't blaming him at all. it was the same split. why not take it? becuse he's mad? yeah what a great business man. lets emotions get in the way of his biggest payday. thats the person you are defending hmmm ok
