He should have been banned from the sport. Anyone that thinks he would use it against Mosley, a fight he was a big favor in, and not against Cotto, a fight he was a big underdog, in has no credibility IMO.

If the NSAC actually did an investigation beyond the Mosley fight, they would have found more than enough proof that would have warranted a much longer suspension, maybe up to five years, but without the actual wraps from the Cotto fight there could be no charges. First, we know the NSAC took this seriously because they banned Capatillo from working a corner in the U.S. for life (by the way he never actually took the blame and to this day still refutes the wraps). As far as evidence, pictures prove that the same style of wraps were used in both fights, injuries to Cotto were not at all consistent with boxing glove/fist/punches. And the last piece of evidence that is beyond refutable, is the picture that shows an actual chunk missing from Margaritos wraps after the fight. Wraps are cloth and tape, and I don't what the circumstances are, wraps will not brake off in chunks, wraps will rip, they will spread, but they don't brake off in chunks. In the picture there is a hole that you can actually see through. If an investigation into the Cotto fight was actually done, Margarito would have received a five year suspension, possibly Life time ban due to the fact they were caught in the Mosley fight.
