It really is just the #3,4 & 5 guys battling it out for the #2 spot as Ortiz is the #1 contender. Briggs' best win since his WBO victory over Liakhovich was against Zumbano Love. That says it all there...
I think one thing's for certain (well, maybe not - there's no certainties in boxing) Briggs is gonna be fighting some decent opponents this year. Imagine if he gets past Oquendo, then Ustinov, he'll be inline for a big time and big money fight. I can dream, can't I?

It's not unrealistic considering Oquendo hasn't exactly been active in 2.5 years but he is the best opponent he will have faced since Vitali. I am 50/50 on that fight because no matter how good of shape Briggs is in he always gasses late & at 45 I wouldn't suspect that to change. Oquendo has had that issue throughout his career as well. Whoever wins that will be in tough against Ustinov. I think Ustinov would be too big for Oquendo & he would wear him down with a late stoppage. Briggs on the other hand could stand in there & fire away early. It's not like Ustinov is hard to hit. I think Oquendo could pose more problems for Briggs then Ustinov because he will move & box. Briggs wouldn't have to go far to find Ustinov. As foolish as these fighters rankings are this is an interesting triangle of fights.
