Jr hasn't showed the commitment to fight at this level in a few years and canelos people know this.

    Shame!

Money grab!!! Great for them, not so much for fans.

I think it's a "whatever" fight. I personally have zero interest but Chavez is big enough that at least it's not Canelo picking on someone smaller. I give it a pass. Same as if GG fought any warm body at 168.
Man, as a genuine fan of Chavez Jr, this statement stung like you cannot believe... mostly because it was true. If the dumbass had been disciplined, he could have had Canelo popularity, and a hell of a career in my opinion.

The number of talented fighters that would kill to get the number of chances this ill disciplined bastard is probably insane.

It's the Mexican Mundine-Green (a domestic scrap that is irrelevant to the rest of the world) and another shameless cherry-pick by GBP

Good fight, but after the Khan fiasco it should have been followed by a major fight that has people talking. This event is pretty hum drum, and should be a walk in the park for Canelo. When will he be truly challenged?

Because people like De La Hoya has been spouting off that Canelo needs to grow into Middleweight yet he's going to fight what is essentially a light heavyweight in Chavez.

I have no real problem with the fight itself, it will probably be good to watch the event but it just confirms further the obvious ducking of GGG but anyone with any sense could see that anyway.

Its like after the run that included Floyd, and wins against Trout and Lara, he's taken a few years off to take part in mediocre fights, bar maybe Cotto.

because GGG has been there calling out for a fight with canelo for going on a year now, canelo said he needs to grow to 160, but when someone at 165 who he doesnt think is much of a threat calls him out he is happy to go all the way up for that. Saying that i do think this has the potential to be a cherry pick gone wrong, provided chavez isnt drained and does a proper camp. That is a massive IF though. I'd ****ing love it if it did go wrong.

                  Its an OK fight
But we all know the outcome
                  And Chavez ain't relevant anymore
                  Will watch though

****, I would LOVE it if that happened. I'd go absolutely nuts. I'd mark out like crazy. Like how I did when Floyd danced his way over to Henry Bruseles and then knocked him out.
