The number of talented fighters that would kill to get the number of chances this ill disciplined bastard is probably insane.
I used to hate the guy because of how little he seemed to care about the sport, but have been rooting for him to get his shyt together for the past 3 years or so. He's got some genuine talent and absolutely ridiculous resources. Can you imagine if he actually dedicated himself to the craft? I'm probably asking too much of someone born into wealth and fame. But, I'm still hoping to see Jr "show up" one of these days.

Nowadays fans don't get to pick who they want to see fight. Back in the days fans didn't have to. So why bother, why not just look forward to it and see what happens?

A well conditioned Chavez is not a cakewalk. I'd imagine this fight to be similar to Martinez vs Junior where JCC got punished, but nearly KO'd Sergio in the last round.

Saying that i do think this has the potential to be a cherry pick gone wrong, provided chavez isnt drained and does a proper camp. That is a massive IF though. I'd ****ing love it if it did go wrong.
how many times do I go to explain that Canelo isn't ducking Golovkin and neither is Golovkin ducking Canelo, it's the promoters who are ****ing this fight up, Canelo was ready last september but De La Hoya wants to milk it, and I'm 100% sure Golovkin is fine with 15M but Loffer wants a % so he can be Co-Promter

          Agreed.

Something that even a ****** like me can understand is that boxing is a sport that requires a lot more discipline, respect, and nigh on reverence. If one can successfully put those into the sport, then end up with Floyd, Pac and Hopkins-esque careers.

People who are gym ****, live and eat healthily, don't let themselves slip, etc, get their just desserts. As do those who do the opposite, ie Broner and Chavez Jr.

          At least, in my opinion.

We want Canelo GGG. We was told Canelo isn't a full 160 pounder but he's fighting Chavez at 165. Smh and Chavez ain't ****. So it's annoying hearing how this is good fight for the sport. How is it good?? Cuz Mexicans and some fans will buy it?? This is why our sport sucks ass most of the time.

It's funny how Lil'G fans theorize that fighting Chavez Jr. is to avoid Golovkin, when K2 publicized "only if the fight makes financial sense" #Chavez Jr. Or Froch at 168 yet it's far fetched for the WBC, Chavez Brand, GBP, and Team Canelo have no luxury to think of a big money fight?! How does that work?

Chavez Jr. been chasing Golovkin and Alvarez for the last 3 years. So the Mexicans got the dibs. Golovkin should just wait on signing that 15mil and fight when he is 40. When Golovkin is 50 he'll realize he should've done better business moves and understand how he was exploited with a tad of guilt knowing he let it happen

I dont know. Sure it's a money fight, but it's not like Canelo-Khan, where the cash cow had all the advantages.

At leat Canelo will get to test his body at a heavier weightclass against a bigger opponent with an exciting style.

Because Canelo said he's too small for 160 then jumped up to 165 to fight a bum who only has his fathers name.

                    It's pure cowardice.

Canelo said he was ready for 160 in every interview, De La Hoya on the other hand said he isn't ready
