No one would have questioned a Kov win, not even Ward. He knew he lost.

I hate Ward's clinching and sneaky shots on the break, but he moved up a division and took on the baddest guy at that weight. I also thought he conducted himself with a lot of class during the build up and I would fully expect him to fire back at critics of his hard-fought 'win' over Kovalev. I can respect that regardless of whether I like his style or not. Sure Ward has a fairly big ego but he's no classless ****** like Broner or Mayweather.

Ward lost by a couple points, but even if it was closer, the champ traditionally gets the nod in a close one. And yet we hear this week the dolt may retire, instead of doing the rematch. Sounds like a certain Chicken Ward guy is full of it, as usual.

"traditionally" as somebody here has put it, the opponent has to go get the belts.....it appeared to me that andre ward had trouble doing so before and after being floored with a single shot.
I had it kovalev by atleast 2 and its actually ward who is "crying" about it.
ward is way over rated in my view and remains in my top ten (one of) most hyped (by americans..predictably) fighters of the modern sport.
