What they need to emulate in preparing for Golovkin is less the ex-Soviet 1-2 style, and more the relentless pressure. That's what gets guys against Golovkin. He presses and presses until they start to make mistakes or freeze up. Definitely worth having 'Soviet school' sparring partners but not sure about the three guys being chosen for that reason.

I do not see how Khurtsidze/Khytrov/Derevyanchenko are going to prepare DJ for GGG...the only thing those guys have in common w/ Golovkin is that they are white and from Eastern Europe.
