once you inflate teh purse to 2 million bucks for edwin rodiriguez you shoudl start to expect this kind of thing will happen.

the big fight goes to ppv. big fight was awesome for the hardcore fans, but didn't draw a lot of casuals and probably lost money. now he's in a rough spot because his purses have been inflated.


honestly, ward might retire. he's a likely hall of famer at this point. he made 5 million bucks in purse in his last go, and i don't think his people will be able to pay him 5 million bucks in the rematch.

Dude is acting like a spoiled brat because a lot of people thought he lost the fight. Instead of going after the rematch like great fighters do (Floyd/Castillo & Maidana, Pac/Marquez) he's mentioning retiring out of spite to the media, fans and team Kovalev.

Ward is a great fighter and I thought he won 114-113. But right now he can have several seats. Before the fight he was eager to take the thrown and do great things like win a heavyweight title. Once he faces a little adversity he speaks a totally different tone.
