I don't think that a young amateur boxer is a trove of money. Rather, it is a matter of prestige for criminals to have a bright personality as a protégé. Hey, they both hail from the same city. Mr. Kaliyev was something like a Don Corleone to Kazakh athletes. I don't think that this relationship was a purely commercial one. But, the billionaire Askar Kulibayev was too nosy a guy, who interferes with everything in Kazakhstan - from civil engineering to pipelines to retail trade.

So, a kind of Robin Hood - Mr. Kaliyev - had ordered an assassination attempt on the billionaire, which, unfortunately, was a failed one. By the way, a 25-year prison term for the failed attempt is rather harsh punishment, forced by the angered billionaire.

So local Don gets squashed by politically connected 'Businessman' who almost certainly has criminal dealings of his own given the little I know of Kazakh politics and business. It is interesting stuff, but hardly a unique story. That is, unfortunately, the way the world works, and not just in the ex-soviet states - though terminal resolutions may be more common in the ex-Soviet states than in the West.

I'm giving it to Koba by UD. Scored a good knock down when he posted the link to Waldemar Kluch's violent side. I'd even give that one a 10-7.

January kept the workrate up but Koba was able to roll with the punches and displayed excellent counter punching abilities when asking what exact point january was trying to make about Golovkins old friend.

January seemed to lack a plan B. When his straight punches weren't finding the mark, he didn't change it up with angled punches, hooks and rips. Kobas blocking more so than his slipping was impressive.

Kobas ring IQ and ring generalship helped him on his way to a UD, but good effort by january.

AIBA scandal before London Olympics partially revealed a price tag for one gold medal to be forged by judges - $5 million. Some Cubans reportedly sold a gold medal to Kazakhs for $150,000. That would give you a certain idea about underworld bookkeeping.

Again, what does this have to do with GGG? These connections are loose at best.

One person being allegedly corrupt, doesn't mean everyone who had anything to do with the guy are corrupt too.

Blogging is a great way to advance freedom of speech. People must have alternative news sources. Mainstream media are predominantly business vehicles to generate profit. So, independent voice is a necessity.

Blogging is not a credible news source for a couple of reasons.

1) Blogs do not have to deal with the burden of truth. For instance Fox news often have corrections or retractions from stories reported in the previous news cast flash by during the credits of their shows. (This is done because no one will see it and they are covered incase they are ever taken to task for fake news)

2) Blogs do not have to be factual. Most blogs are opinions. Opinions are NOT FACTS.

3) Sources of most "blog news" are not credible.

Freedom of speech comes with a responsiblity. Bloggers arent held accountable to ethics boards like journalists are. For example as a blogger I can post an article "Hilary Clinton was caught in the act of giving Trump a BJ" offer no sources just spread rumour and innuendo and people will treat it as truth. However someone with point out that it is a fake news story. I don't have to do anything because a blog is under tge scope of personal thought. Now if that story was published in a newspaper and someone said it was a fake story. The Editor and Reporter would face enquiries, have to print retractions, be suspended or fired.

When talking about news and the mainstream media ask yourself one who does the provider of news place the burden of truth? The provider or the reciever of the news because as a news source the burden must always be on the Provider.
