Not bothered at all who is and isn't an ATG and who's wins were better. Not what I'm discussing.
Hearns wasn't at his peak at all. Not even close to be honest.
Duran and Leonard were WAY past their peak.
Hagler's fault? No. But the same can be said for some of Floyd's past prime opponents.
Fact of the matter is a lot of the above were still top fighters, despite not being in their peak. That's my point.
Now its about Duran, Hearns, and Sugar Ray not peak when they faced Hagler.
You Floyd fans love trying to spin it on somebody else:
Let me simplify this:
Was there a window for FLOYD to have fought Cotto, Manny, Shane, closer to their primes? YES
Was there fights on the table between FLOYD, WINKY, MARGARITO, MANNY that didn't go through that seem to have an impact on his rank in atg status? YES
The topic of the thread is, could FLOYD have done more with HIS career, and in typical Floyd fan fashion, its always about what other fighters did or didn't do, when its obvious that people legitly are looking at ways Floyd could have without question surpassed some of his measuring sticks from other eras that nobody gives him a chance against.
Don't worry though, when its time to examine Manny's career, believe me we won't leave out that Arum was trying to build a stadium, and he refused to take a f**king test in 2009. When we look at Cotto's career, believe me we won't ignore that he said he wasn't ready for Floyd either. When we look back at Shane, we won't leave out that he said he had a toothache. Geez

I was merely using a comparison. Which is normal on a discussion board.
Hagler's a great fighter. I would never dispute that. His win against Hearns was incredible, he's got a lot of impressive wins.
My point is you can say the same about a lot of great fighters such as Hagler who beat fighters who weren't necessarily at thief best but we're still damn good, and one of the best in the world.

I will keep saying this:
19 years, Undefeated, Untied, Never been dominated, never been on his @ss, best split, greatest defensive fighter, champion in 6 divisions, best boxing IQ, great fundamental skill, rematched and dominated his closest fights.
If that don't make you the best. Then I want to see Mr. best

Again, we not talking about a lot of great fighters, we talking about Floyd Mayweather, but if you must throw in comparisons, just don't use Hagler, as
Hagler just is not a fair comparison man. Because if you do that then you must take into consideration that Hagler fought in obscurity much longer than Floyd did, and absolutely did not have the control over when he fought his opposition like Floyd did.
Sugar Ray, Oscar, yeah, Hagler no.

Hearns not close to his peak when he was just coming off a dominant championship run (how many rounds did he even drop at 154 outside of benitez?) and he was "Not even close to be honest."

I'm just pointing out that what you're saying for Floyd, can be said for Hagler. I'm not arguing who's at fault but the fact is Hagler beat top opponents but they weren't at their peak. That's a fact.
