There isn't much more he could have done at all. The main one people will pick up on would be the Pacquiao fight being too late, which is very true but i think both sides have to share the blame for that one. The only other one people really mention is Margarito but was that ever really a huge talking point at the time? i know people talked about it but that fight not happening wasn't a huge deal. it seems like something people have made into a bigger issue over time for a stick to beat Floyd with. In reality, Margarito wouldn't have even laid a glove on Floyd around that time.

I'm not even a huge fan of his but there's no fighter in this era that has been as many top fighters in almost flawless fashion, although not the most exciting. He will be respected more over time. He has an incredible resume and career, one of the best of all time and the only people that say otherwise are those who can't look at it objectively as they dislike him as a person.

The thing about Margarito is how Floyd would react to a guy that is bigger, stronger and have far more power. Margarito lets his hands go whenever he closes in and crowds most fighters with his punches to submission. If Prime Miguel Cotto was unable to keep Margarito off, even with his Keith Thurman power at 147 and his A-level HOF boxing skills as Margarito walked through his punches and lets his hands go always at 100 punches a round, how do you think would Floyd react with his feather fists at the time? Margarito literally ran towards Cotto and beats him to a pulp up in the corner.

Mayweather has not have any Prime A-level fighter in his resume. Sugar Ray Leonard has two of it (Hearns, Duran, Benitez.) Muhammad Ali has 3 of it (Frazier, Foreman, Norton) And Pac has 3 of it (Bradley, Marquez, Barrera) Those are Incredible resumes, not the "World Level" fighters in Guerrero or Ortiz and passed it Pac and Cotto.

What do think Oscar was too Floyd, a stone heavier, taller and bigger in all areas, and punches twice as hard.
Oscar would KO Margarito like Mosley did.

Floyd has fought bigger guys most of his career and look at the KO records of the guys he beat, you need to look at all of it not just this little track you are on.

Floyd vs Margo would be white wash with Floyd boxing out a very clear UD .

You just dont see how hard Mayweather is to BEAT over 12 rounds in a boxing match, a slow plodding fighter like Margarito has no chance to be Floyd.

Why do all the fighters and trainers think so highly of Floyd in a boxing ring yet fans think he gets beat by all these guys that in reality have no chance of winning.

And Cotto fought plaster hands, thats what broke him down not Margarito, without the plaster Cotto beat him.

So many things fundamentally wrong in your post.

Floyd's best wins are Oscar at 154 (arguably his biggest win considering everything was stacked against him), Prime Corrales (Chico had weight problems but who cares, Floyd's greatest performance), Prime Zab Judah (Floyd was getting worked the first four rounds then adjusted, great win), Canelo at 152 (the weight will put an asterisk on this victory), Marquez (Floyd cheated him on the scales, but shut him out 12-0, still impressive), Pacquiao (this fight needed to happen in 2010..way too late. but a win is a win), Prime Castillo (lost the first fight imo but cleared up things in a rematch..great wins), Prime Maidana (tough fights), Cotto (was Cotto prime? he put on one of his best performances ever giving Floyd imo his toughest fight ever..great win), Berto (no comment), Guerrero, Mosley and Ortiz were both coming off career best victories (great wins), Prime Ricky Hatton (**** Joe Cortez but great finish), Prime Baldomir (hey don't laugh he beat a Prime Zab Judah for the belt), Gatti (put Floyd on the map), Corley, Jesus Chavez and N'dou were tough fights, Emmanuel Augustus (arguably greatest journeyman ever), Manfredy and Hernandez were both impressive wins.

When was Floyd prime state the years ?

Was Floyd prime when he beat Manny Cotto Oscar Mosley Canelo ?

Was he more prime or less prime if there is such a thing than those guys, or about the same, define the relationship of prime seeing that they all fought in the same era, all had common opponents and all fought each other, how can it be possible that Mayweather beat them all yet he is the least credited, lol its fanboyism fed by nothing but double standards .

Did Hearns Leonard Hagler Duran Ali Robinson have opponents that were mediocre, opponents that Guerrero Berto Ortiz would beat, they had sht loads of them lol.

Mayweather would give any fighter in history at 135-140 the fight of their life, I dont believe in the best ever I believe in lots of good fighters and an exclusive group of greats , Floyd Mayweather is one of those greats.
