Comments Thread For: Renold Quinlan Vows To Put Chris Eubank Jr. To Sleep For UK Fans

Rising Australian boxer Renold Quinlan is hoping to be the crowd favourite against England's Chris Eubank Jnr, even though their February 4 fight is in London. Preparing to defend the IBO super-middleweight title he won by knocking out countryman Daniel Geale in two rounds in October, Quinlan has also predicted he'll knock out Eubank Jnr, whose only previous defeat was via a split decision.

Never heard of this Renault guy.

Another mismatch in the making, don't know why they sanction these type of fights.

        Dude is 11-1, with 7 KO's. He's a legit up-and-comer?

He ICED Daniel Geale - put him into retirement for good.

I know where you're coming from - some fights definitely shouldn't be sanctioned.

But this is not one of them. This is a fight with a heavy favorite, yes, but the "opponent" is definitely somebody who knows how to handle himself in the ring, and has a chance to win..

Its true that he KOed Geale, but is Geale any good? Does he has the power to keep him at bay?

I might be wrong but he needed another fight with a good name maybe in the UK before facing a puncher like Eubank.

This guy is just about one level higher than David Hayes last 'opponent'.

Quinlan could, realistically, win this fight. Don't write him off just yet. He's not a tomato can.

I mean, it's no question Gaele was definitely somewhat "shot" - coming off two brutalizing losses to Cotto, andGGG.

However, a shot Geale is still a legitimate enough measuring stick.

If you can KO Gaele, you're at least a top 25ish contender, IMO.

Don't get me wrong - I don't think this dude is a world beater or anything. I was just saying it's a bit far to say "this shouldn't even be sanctioned."
