Hell of a post.DEMETRIUS ANDRADE! DEMETRIUS ANDRADE! DEMETRIUS ANDRADE!!!!
There I did it. Now networks, make the fight! GGG-Charlo, Charlo-Andrade, or GGG-Andrade next. Lara-Andrade is cool too. Jermell not really interested he's been very boring recently. Lubin or Hurd vs Andrade or any of these guys by June would be good too. Let's hurry up the boxing schedule a little bit next year! Fans are tired of these rivalries and storylines and careers taking 5 years of tuneups to actualize. It's ridiculous. Michael Jordan won five rings in that time. That's 20 total NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL seasons in that time alone, but one random top level fight between these guys is supposed to keep our interest over 20 seasons worth of storylines?
Nah man. Get these fights going. Have Andrade, Jermall, Hurd, Lubin, hell Spence is plenty big enough for 154, Lara, have all these guys fight each other by mid-2018. Each can have four fights by mid-2018, and make it like a double elimination tournament, and just roll from one matchup to the next. If someone gets too beat up, then they bow out and rest a year, take a tuneup. But the guys who keep winning can keep fighting the best one after another. Whittle that 154 division down from those 5-10 contenders to one or two guys. Create a REAL champion tournament style.
Boxing fans are sick of hearing about "oh there are so many promising guys in this division, so much talent, there are like 10 promising fighters coming into their primes." No we want to know out of the promising ones, who is actually the best? Which ones are the real deal? Who would beat who? Start making all those fights and fans will become interested again. And do the same in every division. Do not hold things up to get extra paydays vs easy opponents. Nah. Hold things up only to preserve fighters careers so they can make more great fights later on. Yes you have to pace them but I seen so many times in PBC where a fighter has a really easy fight, but then they get an easy opponent the next time. Why would a fighter need an easy fight if they didn't get hurt their last fight?
So these matchmakers need to be smarter. Roman Gonzalez for example can use a rest, or a tuneup, because of his war with Cuadras. That makes sense because otherwise you will run him into the ground and you won't get all the big fights with him you want anyway. But does Jermall Charlo need an easy fight next just because his last fight was a tough matchup on paper? Hell no because he came through that fight easily! Only had to fight 6 rounds, didn't get hit that much, didn't get hurt. So go right into the next big fight! Match him tough until he does get dropped or gets in a tough fight, and then you can scale it back, let him recover, then rinse repeat. That's how it's supposed to work. Look out for the fighters longevity, of course, but don't give them easy matchups for no ****ing reason. You should earn easy fights only by being in hard fights. And not just on paper, but in the ring. Because if you can make even hard matchups look easy in the ring, without taking punishment, then why would you need easy matchups? Keep taking the hardest ones, and keep making them look easy until you can't, and then do a tune-up before trying again.
But this whole attitude of "well I already fought a top guy this year, so now I'm entitled to two easy ones even though that guy had an ankle injury in the 2nd round and I didn't even get punched" is ruining the sport. Or any of that ****. Nah man match the best vs the best until someone takes too much punishment, and then give them a break and be smart, but don't just make these tune-ups for no reason when the fighter doesn't need tuning up, when he's not getting hurt at all vs that level of opposition.Comment

Any chance we'll see Andrade vs Lara this year? I don't expect Jermall to go for another tough fight. That's not how it works in this sport. He'll most likely appear 8-12 month later, which is typical.
Lara vs Andrade needs to happen.Comment

I like this kid but he's spent years and years talking pure **** about Cotto, Canelo, Lara, both Charlo brothers and a whole host of others tearing at their resumes when he's fighting your Willie Nelsons & Brian Roses of the world whom are easily among his best wins.
You'd think he already had an ATG resume the way the guy goes on. Seriously needs to stfu, stay active and start fighting guys with a pulse because at this stage as talented as he may look he's a laughing stock.
The only notable guy he's fought is a world level gatekeeper sort in Vanes & that was going on 3-4 years back now.Comment
