actually there was no boycott on stevensons promoter, his manager advised against this fight and they went to showtime. Get it right. This happened before the infamous purse bid/ money grab by the wbc.

The facts don't support your position. Kovalev demanded that he be allowed to fight for the WBC diamond title and became Stevenson's mandatory. Stevenson said okay. Kovalev demanded a 50/50 split. Stevenson said okay. The WBC was going to hold a purse bid. Stevenson said okay. Kovalev said never mind and vacated his mandatory position.

and the facts say hbo refused to give adonis 100k extra for teh deal he wanted..haymon and michel were putting up 200k combined...to keep him on hbo...hbo refused a very fair deal and showtime paid up...he did not run to haymon or showtime..he allowed hbo to get the numbers he wanted for a 3 fight deal an hbo refused...SHOWTIME ACCEPTED...and he signed to fight 3 fights and wanted hopkins in 1 or 2 of those fights.
