It was the lack of promotion, plain and simple.

You got the 2 best guys in the sport going head to head.

And both men are incredible interviews and charismatic.

It should have been a 4 part 24/7 with at least one condensed episode airing on prime time regular TV.

He had a solid Asian American/Fillipinos fanbase who could relate to him (potential fanbase of Russian emmigrants in America who could relate to Kovalev would be much smaller) plus Pac defeated boxing superstar like De La Hoya and plenty of Mexicans with solid fanbase and his rivalry with the other superstar Floyd was easy to promote

If Main Events and Kovalev believe that the crybaby approach will sell the rematch they are sadly mistaken. If they want to sell this fight, Kovalev needs to just come out and say something like....Jesus won't save him in the rematch because I'm knocking that MF out. Crying about judges will only turn folks away.

Main Events and Roc Nation need to step up their marketing game or walk away from this fight for now and let Ward fight Beterbiev and Kovalev fight Stevenson.
