Comments Thread For: Salido Leans Away From Lomachenko, Moves in New Direction

As the new year dawns, Orlando Salido - who battled Francisco Vargas to a draw on June 4th in what is considered by many to be the best fight of 2016 - isn't doing all that much.

Salido knows Loma would mop the floor with him this time around. That's why he ducked

I didn't expect this, I thought Salido was a warrior who'd duck nobody...guess that's not the case anymore

no more Warlando, from now on it's Ducklando Salido

bull****. people would just as much see Loma-Salido as Vargas-Salido. This rematch makes more sense right now, the Vargas-Salido rematch is always gonna be there, win or lose for Salido - why exclude an extra payday?

Salido is a shrewd operator, he wants the fight and he wants to get well paid for it...Loma already lost to him so he isn't that bothered. He would end up getting his money and the rematch would happen.

I'd rather see him fight Vargas again anyway, the first was amazing. I don't think Salido would be as competitive with Loma in a rematch. Vasyl is wiser now and wouldn't fall into those traps.

No dammit, this is the fight I want to see more. I would rather have a Salido/Loma rematch with a Vargas/Miura rematch on the same card with the winners fighting later in the year. Salido is a true warrior, but I really hope they still find a way to make the rematch with Lomachenko work

You hit the nail on the head bro!! The people who defend this move will say that Salido already "beat" him and is in the driver's seat. I think Salido knows that this version of Lomachenko is leaps and bounds better than the last time he faced him.
