  • Comments Thread For: Naoya Inoue Halts Kohei Kono In Six, Sets Sights On Roman Gonzalez

Two years ago on this very weekend, Naoya Inoue not only became a late entry in the Fighter of the Year race, but was granted such honors on these very pages.

This time around, the 23-year old phenom delivered an 11th hour submission for Knockout of the Year, icing former 115 lb. titlist Kohei Kono in the 6th round of their super flyweight title fight Friday evening at Ariake Colisseum in Tokyo, Japan.

roman should be easy work..he fights one way and his face is his defense no matter what they tell you differently..

that'w about my 4th time seein inoue..some things i like some things i find vulnerable, but then i look around at competition and say ummmm

Good uppercut KO by Inoue, his control of range taking short steps back and firing can give RG some problems and he still looked fresh half way in the six before the icing.

Inoue's Good , no doubt . But to watch HBO and see Kellerman trying to hype the fight and gigling like a school girl Everytime he mentions it is annoying . Inoue's himself mentioned in his fight before this one ( against Jarupianlerd ) that he thought he needed a couple more fights before Chocolatito / Cuadras . Give Cuadras his deserved rematch , put Inoue on the undercard and build the fight for the fans watching .

Yeah, after seeing Gonzalez have issues with Caudras, Inoue might be too big for him.

Jesus, I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before. It's worse than the ref who carried Nate Cleverly back to his corner.

                  Get that ref for Golovkin/Jacobs!

                    Omg WTF??
Is that WWE? I'm surprised the ref didn't take a pipe out of his pocket and hit Murata over the head then count him out.
