Hatton admits he was hurt.....how many fighters are acutally Honest?

How many times have you seen a fighter get rocked only to say after the fight that he was never hurt?

Every fight Hatton has been in, in the interview afterwards he seems to be one of, if not, the most honest person about the situation/fight he was in.

Just look at this last fight for example: he said he was hurt a few times in the fight...now it might not have been hurt where he was going to be KO, but it was enough to really get his attention and say that he felt the difference.
He not only admitted that he was hurt a bit in the 12th, but he felt it a few times before the 12th; he didn't have to just state the obvious with regards to round 12, he told the truth about the other rounds, rounds which nobody would of really knew.

I liked how Chris Byrd said after the Wlad fight that he shouldn't have tried to kid himself fighting a 240lb man like Wlad.

When did Hatton say all that. I know that when he talked to Merchant he said that Callazo hits hard and he was shook up a few times but didnt he say something like he wasnt ever in danger? I was like, he was in trouble in the 12th.

You should give him props for admitting that but at the same time, this isnt exactly the best thing you want to hear if your a Hatton fan, when your talking about him fighting a guy who has a very low KO percentage and is considered not to have real power. Not only did he hurt him but he fought pretty much the whole fight toe to toe with him

that's why he's easy to root for

That's what makes Hatton easy to root for. There's not a phony bone in his body. I have mixed feelings though, since I'm a fan of the pure art of boxing and slugging without clinching and other dirty tactics. I guess that Ricky's trainer is partially responsible for his mauling, grappling style. I don't see how it helps him except to buy him a few seconds of rest here and there, and maybe to frustrate his opponents.

Well with Hatton-Collazo and Byrd-Wlad,its not like those guys could deny they were hurt.Hatton was visibly hurt in the 12th,and byrd got blown out of the water. What was byrd really gonna say,"I felt like was still in the fight"?

Hatton has very few haters. He has some doubters, but haters? Nah...people love him or doubt him. He's your ordinary man outside of the ring. He's rather drive a Ford Escort or a Subaru Impreza than a BMW or Mercedes Benz. He'd drink beer over wine. Stay at home with his parents than go out getting trashed.

Even this place, as opinionated as it is, has never really hated on Hatton. And the respect he showed Kostya speaks volumes about his character.

Good points, I really respect Hatton even tho I'm not his biggest fan. I respected how he gives fighters respect and the other night he gave the under appreciated Collazo tons of respect. About the last round thing tho I think he couldn't deny he was somewhat hurt in the 12,but he did hang on and show his will and determination.

I don't get how some fighters say they weren't hurt, everybody saw it and there is no denying it. But props to Hatton for admiting it.

I remember when Lennox Lewis was downplaying his KO loss to Rahman and his near loss to Klitchko.

I recall HAtton admitting that Vince Phillips had him hurt as well...

He is a stand up guy that is impossible to not respect.
