LAS VEGAS — It was a good hour and a half after his devastating one-punch knockout of Amir Khan on Saturday night at this city’s newest showcase, the T-Mobile Arena, when the words finally came out of the mouth of Canelo Alvarez every boxing fan has been waiting to hear for the last year or so.

For me, there are no issues,” the WBC/lineal middleweight champion said at his post-fight news conference, referring to his mandated but oft-doubted future middleweight unification bout against Gennady Golovkin. “I’ll fight at 160 pounds, no problem.”
Watch the full conference dont just read translated articles that wont even give you a whole sentence, cuz that wasnt the whole answer, he said "i'll fight at 160 pounds, no problem, but i have a team". But then again gggs team said they will fight canelo at cw if he vacated, guess what happened?? And after that is "160 or no fight"...

exactly! Fact is that there is a contract from canelo to ggg and it hasn't been signed!

Wtf... and by the way also gggs team said before they will fight canelo at cw if he vacated, guess what ggg said after that "160 or no fight", they all talk, if you want one boxer to stay true to their words you must do the same with the rest, im surprised that after 25 years you still want boxer to back up every single sentence that comes out of their mouth, did you already forget "anyone from 154 to 168" " im not a businessman i respect boxing" and then drags a ww 13 lbs lol... dont be naive, this is boxing and those guys arent saints...
It's not about what he will do, it is about what he said. He said after beating Cotto that he would fight at middleweight, per the article I posted on this thread and that he would defend it against GGG. And then he dumped the belt. It is not about being true to his word - he has had a series of BS tales and lies and capped it off by dumping his title when in fact he said he would defend it against GGG. He is THE ONLY fighter in the history of boxing to declare that he would NOT defend his title against 160 pound middleweights!!! THAT is why he has been the butt of all jokes this year! He said WE MEAN BUSINESS, WE DONT *** AROUND and then proceeded to drop his title, the one he said he would DEFEND against GGG. There is a reason why the boxing world lashed out at Canelo!

Canelo was asked SPECIFICALLY about his mandatory and he said he would defend his title against GGG. You cannot grasp the fact that the ENTIRE boxing world lashed out at Canelo and buried him in articles insulting him for a reason. What do you think that reason was?

That sentence you posted here came from the post conference after the khan fight, again rewatch and comeback with the full answer.... i watched that live , no video editions or crappy or incomplete translations, if im not mistaken even maxi or another big ggg fan pointed that last part of the sentence here in the forum...

You ****** sht! He had a CATCH WEIGHT agreement with Khan for a CUTTOFF of 155 and he made a CATCH WEIGHT demand of GGG for a CUTOFF of 155!! That means he would not fight anyone over 155 while holding the middleweight title!! Are you ***ing ******ed????
