I did used to think the guy was just a lumbering ox, but there's actually a lot more to his game than I thought. Dude's still a trainwreck in waiting though - the next meltdown's only a matter of time.
I also have a lot more respect for Wilder now than I did a year ago. That's mainly because he accepted the result of the purse bid with Povetkin and was ready to defend his title in Russia. I was also impressed by his genuine concern for Szpilka after KO'ing him and by the sympathy he expressed for Tyson Fury, after Tyson had his licence suspended. I think Fury will beat him, if they ever fight, but Wilder has a punchers chance against anybody, and a lot of heart.

He's fighting Jacobs now, who is a legit contender. It might've taken longer but I respect GGG's loyalty to K2. He could've signed with anyone he wanted to yet he chose to stay with them and he's being rewarded.

And people on NSB consider me a GGG hater because I thought he was the best MW in the world. However to some people that's not enough. If you aren't willing to give the man a reach around than your a hater. There are times when being critical of GGG was warranted but he's fighting Jacobs. This isn't one of those times.

I'm going with Keith by UD, though I freely admit I just don't like Swift that much - quite aside from the absurd mismatches something about the dude just rubs me up the wrong way. It's not that Danny's not any good - kid's quite well rounded, I just never saw anything that special about him. Should be a pretty good fight though and I certainly don't see One Time having it all his own way.

TBH though I'm more interested in seeing how the whole Brook/Khan Spence/Bradley situation plays out. Wouldn't mind seeing either of those fights or any combination of the 4 guys, ideally with whoever comes out on top squaring off with the DSG - Thurman winner, though I'm far from sure Brook sticks around at 147 after a Khan fight (if it happens). What you reckon?

The current MW champion and the previous two MW champions have ALL come from the jr MW division...

of course, because its the fail-safe position. If GGG blows Jacobs out, then they can say "see, GGG only fights scrubs". And if GGG should struggle or even lose the fight, then they can say "see, he couldnt even beat a scrub like Jacobs".

So obviously discrediting Jacobs is the first step.......
