Well you just described a lot of posters on here including OP

Saul Alvarez has current fight night weight of roughly 170lbs. Alvarez may try to put on a little weight, but my guess is that Alvarez simply won't cut any/all that much weight (while ChavezJr puts his body, that's likely a fight fit 180lbs, through the torture that's going to be required to boil down to 165lbs.

If you're hanging your hat on Alvarez doing some massive bulk up, you're a fool. Alvarez is still young enough that his body can tolerate his normal weight cut; the moment that that becomes an issue, Alvarez and his camp will move to middleweight permanently (likely still only boiling down from a fight fit 170lbs, as I don't see Alvarez getting all that much bigger, physically).

That's about what I'd expect (though I do expect to see Cotto being willing to give up some money to drive the weight lower), tbh. Also, I don't expect Alvarez to push off the Saunders fight to his May PPV date (if the plan is to eventually open up the NYC market for Alvarez, risking that with an HBO date against Saunders in early 2017 isn't a bad way to go).

Whether Golovkin can make it to that May 2018 date is on him and his handlers.

there is already a 15 million offer to fight GGG at 160, if you really want to see this fight go to gggs social media and demand him to take the offer and finally give his fans one meaninfull fight for the first time in his career...

No, he will fight Golovkin because there's too much money to make. Been his plan all along, GDP isn't as ****** as the average fan and won't let the WBC dictacte how much money they give to the nobody. Now if Golovkin isn't a b1tch hes gonna take the 15 mill and shut his ass up.

I agree that Golovkin should just accept the offer, but then again, the offer should be better.

Don't really care what he does, don't care if he goes back down to 154/5 whatever. Prefer to see him fight Golovkin. But its more down to the sport for allowing it, than the man, hes just exploiting something that's already there

165 pounds is about as low as Chavez can go. It's very unlikely Canelo would weigh in at a soft 165 pounds. Canelo is not nearly as big as some posters like to say he is. Canelo had no problem making 154 and looking great for his last fight. After he fights Chavez he could return to 154 or fight at 160. He doesn't need to fight at 155.Making 154 is no big deal as he showed KOing Smith.

But here's the thing... I can actually favor Chavez to win if he is motivated and puts his talent to use, although, that would be at maybe 168. Again, I don't see Chavez possessing that mentality at this point.
