Many infer that Golovkins defense is porous because he got hit so much, but that is a fallacy. Gennady wasn't thinking about looking good; he was most concerned with what it would take to end the fight. What we understand is that Gennady Golovkin is a thinking fighter who completely understands his limitations. Golovkin is a terrific blend of physicality and processes strengths, weaknesses and a counter attack quickly and accurately. Instead of lying to himself and thinking Brook was getting lucky, GGG almost instantly figured out that Brook's hands were much faster than his and he wasn't making him miss with many leads or follow ups. During the process of getting peppered more than he had in any other fight in his pro career, Golovkin realized after a round or two that Brook was too small and didn't hit hard enough to hurt him and that it made sense to allow himself to get hit and turn it into what he called a ''bar fight.'' This is similar to the same decision Marvin Hagler made when he fought Thomas Hearns. GGG has an extremely high boxing IQ.

What is meant is that against brook types he can charge in recklessly and have what he called a street fight. It's not that he lowers hands and says hit me he just forsakes d against Lemieux he power boxed and was d responsible power jab broke him down get it jokers he will fight Jacobs like Lemieux

He didn't let Stevens or Lemieux hit him like that either.

Because guys like you have no respect for what Floyd was able to accomplish in a 20 year career against a long list of world class opponents....yet you turn right around and elevate Golovkin to godhood just because he knocks out overmatched opponents.

It grates on the nerves. Like nails on a chalkboard.

but it's very clear he lets certain fighters hit him to open them up.

Some of yall are wylin. GGG fights to his opponents, facts. There's a reason he plods forward and eats shots against Kell and Munroe Jr but boxes masterfully and takes very little damage against a ****er like Lemiueux. If he knows he can take your shot he will trade because he knows most cannot take his, but if it's power vs power than skills/technique are the tie breaker. He won't stand and trade with Jacobs even though he knows Jacobs can be hurt, simply because he also knows Jacobs can hurt him just as easily.

Poor Jacobs.. Struggling to convince himself he has a real chance! Some battle cancer and win... but nobody survives getting run over by an 18 wheeler going 120.

I can't make this up! Monroe Jr hit him easily but with only 6 KO'S he had no power to hurt Lil G. Brook hit him and bruised his face in the 6 rounds and if he wasn't so much smaller than Lil G we would of had different outcome.
