Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Warns: Canelo Will Have Most Difficult Night of His Life!
Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32KOs) has issued a big warning to fellow Mexican superstar Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34KOs). [Click Here To Read More]
Finally watched the Britsch fight, and can honestly say that Chavez Jr piqued my interest during the first two rounds; he was moving his feet, moving his head, throwing a good jab, use feints to get to where he wanted on the inside, etc. He was fighting like a tall guy, looking land on the inside.
... and then he reverted. Abandoned the jab, abandoned most of the footwork, and basically started to bumrush his way in (no different than what he tried to do in the Fonfara and Reyes fights).
If the Chavez Jr that showed up for the first two rounds turns up, fans are going to be in for a really good fight. If the old ChavezJr shows up, fans are going to get a chance to see how many times it takes Saul Alvarez punching him in the face to get ChavezJr to quit
Nobody ever gives them credit but Chepo and Eddie Reynoso have been able to take a 14 year old kid and mold him into becoming arguably one of the most dynamic 154/160lb fighters in the sport (though his naturally heavy feet do leave style openings that'll always give Alvarez hell).
Man people are over looking Chaves, this is a 50/50 fight, it only takes one punch to put Canelo to sleep and Chaves has fought at light heavyweight ffs
Chavez has done nothing in the last couple years. If this fight was at 168 i would give him a chance, but not drained to 165, he hasnt made that weight in 4 years or something. He couldnt get that german bum out of there.
Chavez will be a punching bag that night.. we all know this is just a cash grab, nobody with common sense picks Chavez to win..he's getting humiliated.
