You're probably right, but I doubt that Chavez Jr gives up any of his stake on the event to do that, tbh.

With Haymon handling the talks (no doubt understanding that Alvarez's options are basically down to Chavez Jr or another Liam Smith-esque payday against Billy Joe Saunders) and having the onus to deliver for Chavez Jr, Chavez Jr getting 30% of the pot isn't out of line (working off of the initial talked offer as being fair, $10m to Chavez Jr/$25m to Alvarez would seem fair).

Is Chavez Jr going to be willing to give up some of his take on the fight, to get Ryan Karl or Justin DeLoach or Brandon Figueroa or Miguel Flores, or any of the other TX-based Haymon prospects? I'm not all that sure.

Oscar may look at if Haymon can find some better profile guys for Golden Boy's fighters to try to knock off (ie. inquiring about Hugo Ruiz vs Diego De La Hoya fight, Edner Cherry vs Michael Perez, Sergio Mora or Antoine Douglas for Jason Quigley, etc), but to act as if it's going to be some kind of joint production is a bit much.

Probably too soon for a Diego Dela Hoya vs Rey Vargas or JoJo Diaz vs Abner Mares, but imagine those two will be on the main portion of the undercard in step-up fights.

Haymon may put Charlo or Spence here both from Texas. Or even David Benavides.

Jermell is fighting on another card in February, and Erroll Spence is already lined up to be fighting for the IBF 147lb belt. You add that Jermall Charlo winning his own fight in impressive fashion likely puts him about in the spot where he and his handlers need to find our what his own drawing ability is looking like, and mentioning those guys doesn't make much sense.

David Benavidez is the type of fighter that Golden Boy would probably be interested in getting on the bill (young, aggressive fighter, seemingly big puncher, Mexican, etc) but 1)Golden Boy has no one at the weight to match him with and 2)Haymon's quite unlikely to cover for Oscar.

Haymon has 50 fights cards to deliver for PBC in 2017 (plus the fight cards that will get put on with Showtime/CBS). What's to stop Al Haymon from matching Benavidez vs Andrew Hernandez (both are Phoenix-area fighters, rated near enough to each other on BoxRec to have it be a solid matchup, and Hernandez seems to have shown that he's at about journeyman level) on the rumored Victor Ortiz vs Brandon Rios fight card (not the most high-profile fight, but both fighters have big enough names, with a real rivalry, to get placed on one of the primetime FOX dates).

Benavidez gets a good matchup, his fight gets big exposure (I doubt that Oscar is going to give up a showcase slot on the televised PPV to Haymon for anything), and the PBC model gives another quality prospect a chance to draw an audience that would hopefully find another reason to tune into PBC.

Not with the amount of TV dates in hand that Haymon has, tbh. For all of the talk about "on PPV on cinco de drinko", Saul Alvarez is likely to have all of four fights on the televised and Alvarez, JoJo Diaz, and Diego De La Hoya are likely already penciled in for the broadcast.

Is Erroll Spence Jr really going to take a PPV opening slot (or possibly a PPV chief support) over headlining his own fight card (on Showtime if the Brook fight ends up happening, but easily in primetime on FOX/NBC/CBS if he has his vacant title fight against Jeff Horn or Andre Berto, or whomever agrees to the fight)? I don't think so.

American Airlines Center is likely too big a venue at this point, but The Bomb Factory in Dallas is about as big as the Ford Ampitheater in NYC was, so the venues make sense. Stage the fight for sometime in early April, with folks coming out to see Erroll Spence Jr in the metro area he grew up in, and gauge where his starpower is at.
