I hate candelita but it would be cool to see her thumping up on chumpez as a sort of revenge for chumpez ruining Martinez' knee.

Imagine the Cowboys was 6-10 this year and got awarded a chance to play in the NFC Championship game vs the Giants just because it'll get better ratings and bring in more money for the NFL compared to Seattle or Atlanta. This is what we get. This some bull**** bro.

But he orchestrated the Garcia-Salka fight and Garcia-Vargas fights as well as a number of other grotesque mismatches. That's why uncle Al has to start making competitive bouts now because he lost a ton of money overpaying these "stars" for lame fights against mostly no-hopers.

Outside of Mexico this is as irrelevant as it gets. Chavez at 168 would be okay, but drained Chavez is just a laughable opponent. Guy hasnt made 165 in almost 5 years.

Its not so much the match-up that people are protesting but the fact thats its on ppv

It used to be the case that ppvs predominately involved the p4p number 1 or the undisputed heavyweight champion vs his most challenging adversary. Now its increasingly becoming a platform to showcase a belt holder against an opponent who rarely has more than a 20% chance to win the fight. The belt is a tool used by the promoter to con the public into believing that the fighter is, or could be considered, the premier fighter in the division, and it will continue to work until the public stop buying, literally and figuratively, into what promoters are selling. Of course therez no belt involved in chavez vs canelo but canelos team is trying so hard to avoid a legitimate challenge, they will urge canelo to move to just shy of supermiddleweight in order to avoid tricky style matchups vs the other belt holders at 154 and delay the ggg fight

The fact that canelo is gonna fight chavez at a weight of around 166 pounds just further reiterates the point that weight vs golovkin was not an issue and de la hoya is waiting for golovkin to age so his only star has a bigger chance in preserving his brand by beating ggg.

You can't even compare 154 pound beefy to Chavez Jr

Canelo is a much better boxer. Plus the weight swings in chavez career wont help him resist pumches anymore.
