NEW YORK Daniel Jacobs was encouraged by how easily Kell Brook was able to hit Gennady Golovkin. Brook drilled Golovkin with several clean punches during their September 10 fight in London. The IBF welterweight champion just wasn't big enough or strong enough to seriously hurt Golovkin with any of those punches, and eventually lost by fifth-round technical knockout at O2 Arena in London.

Hit and not get hit! Jacobs needs to get past 8 if he wants a chance to win. Attack the 35-yr. old body consistently for 8 rounds, and then hope for the best in the later rounds! BROOKLYN STAND UP!

If GGG lets him hit him like Brook did, then GGG deserves to lose.

Not saying GGG 'let' Brook hit him, more that he had enough disregard for Brook's punches to be in a position where he caught a few.

If he disregards Jacobs punches in the same way, then we'll find out how good his chin really is.

Someone asked a good question the other day - 'if GGG had Jacobs' chin, and Jacobs had GGG's chin, who do you think would win ?'. Had to think about that.....

I think this is dangerous thinking.... a lot of boxers seem to be saying this kinda stuff lately, no boxer should be looking at ggg and nelo after their fights with Khan and brook... they were 2 fights that canelo and ggg were not really up for,they knew they could take the punchs and were really putting in what 40-50% effort.

Exactly. I specifically remember Lemieux saying the exact same thing. They all forget that Golovkin hits back and when he does all their aspirations change and they go in survival mode.

GGG wouldn't have 0 losses at all... He is not a defensive specialist like Mayweather or James Toney. His chin is part of his defence.
