you guys are something else. Its good that none of you actually represent fighters, because it was obviously someone like you that told Chad Dawson that fighting Ward at 168 was a great idea so no need to negotiate further.

    grow up

that " anyone from 154-168 " schtick was clearly a planned marketing/PR strategy

one guy, did not make an off-handed comment, ONCE

they ALL ran around spouting that shht for FOUR YEARS !!

    then.....

    * they totally refused to negotiate with Cotto on the weight
    * they totally refused to negotiate with Canelo on the weight
    * they demanded a 164lb catchweight from Ward
    * they demanded a 166lb catchweight from Froch
    * and now it looks like they demanded a catchweight from Chavez as well

    come on man, get real

You see kov hugging, grabbing, headlocks to avoid that inside game of Wards. So Ward scared the sh|t out of the most feared and then went up in weight class (Boxers can do this) and took the other ones belts. Ward 2-0, alt right, my bad, saltines, Russia 0-2
Oh, so the heavier fighter is also the fighter who hits harder, with more accuracy, with better fundamentals. Noted!

They didn't ask for 164 for much later when first started talking.

They did say it in the media, but Loeffler is saying they never said it to Ward.

People pick and choose what quotes they want.

I have a video of Sanchez saying it would have to be at 168 too, but that one is ignored.

When they said 164 in the media it was when Lloefler said that if Ward wanted 50/50 in purse then it would have to be 50/50 in weight too. But he didn't mean a CW, what he really meant was you won't get 50% of the purse.
Haters took it to another level

..... sure he did, you keep telling yourself that

"Loeffler feels that Golovkin is the A-side in any negotiations with Ward, which means they would expect to get a good deal from the negotiations. However, it’s a doable fight as long as Ward is A. willing to accept a 50-50 deal. B Agreeable to a 164lb catch-weight. C. is ready to fight.

“GGG is now clearly the ‘A’ side yet Ward still would want to dictate terms, which makes no sense,” Loeffler said. “GGG would fight Ward on a 50-50 basis, the best 160-pounder versus the best 168-pounder (at) 164 (and) a 50-50 split on all proceeds.
                  "

Why would he be afraid of GGG and not Kovalev? Kovalev was a much bigger risk, and a lesser known name, but he still signed the fight and entered the ring with him. The GGG fight was much more attractive than the Kovalev fight, so I'm sure if GGG manned up and took it Ward would have went that path (and then probably went up to 175 after anyway).

Ward hasn't 'officially' lost to anyone yet, unless you are disagreeing with what the word officially means.

I think you are trying to suggest that GGG is a bigger threat than Kovalev which is just embarrassing, really.

He is most likely talking about retiring to put pressure on people in negotiations. When he signs the rematch and gets in the ring with Kovalev again, will you admit that you were wrong on that?
I don't think u understand that ggg is a way better fighter overall than Kovalev. And not only that but he's a much more dangerous puncher and finisher. Kovalev is a hard headed type of guy who pretty much will always be at the same level while ggg only keeps improving. Higher boxing IQ. If u hear Kovalev talk about ggg he talks wit nothing but respect and praises and even said he wouldn't want to fight him but this is boxing and he eventually would. He wanted no parts of ggg in sparring Abel wanted to see a war in there and Kovalev was too scared or showing too much respect even when he got dropped. The amount of power that he posses combined wit knowledge on how to utilize it properly makes him a high threat to any man 160-175. In my opinion Ward is great but ggg beats him 168 or 175 he has the better tools the better chin and way more power Ward can't hurt him he can try to tire him but when he tries to close the distance like he did wit Kovalev ggg gonna break ribs break his body down wit vicious shots u gonna see soon enough if Ward ever really fights him cause I know ggg after seeing that Kovalev fight has no fear of fighting Ward
