Jr might be sub par. But like it or not the name chavez on a ppv card will get people's attention. Especially next to alverez. Does jr deserve it; nope. But reality is the name his father built holds weight and resonates with many boxing fans, avid or casual. From a business and marketing perspective jr does deserve a healthy cut based on the potential volume this bout can generate. Well, arguably sr. Deserves a cut too, in theory.

Lol, at least?!! No way. Skill wise, he's slow, 0 defense and just takes hits to the face and smiles like its funny while his dad is in the crowd about to lose his top because of that foolishness. Easy win for any top fighter.

Everybody want to be Floyd Mayweather when it comes to the money but don't generate nearly enough to justify their demands, Canelo probably the closest and still can't get past Floyd's worst PPV numbers...
From what I'm reading they're offering upside but not a big enough percentage. Is that not right?

That's about it. Chavez Sr. keeps saying he wants 30%-35% vs whatever they are getting offered at the moment. Implication is flat fee + some percentage well south of 30%.

That's my interpretation also. Chavez hasn't once mentioned a flat fee.

              Exactly, see no. 5

Boxers that ducked/ducking GGG, fyi all of these are/were world champs.

              1. Sturm --- wouldn't fight him for over 2 years when GGG was mandatory to him.

              2. Quillin --- said he will only fight for the may-pac kind of money, lol + he flew to Haymon to avoid GGG

              3. Martinez --- "His promoter said that "no way I am putting him with this monster", GGG kept calling him out after his U.S. debut after every fight

              4. Cotto --- ducked his mandatory(GGG) twice by fighting Geale and Canelo

              5. Chavez jr --- Turned down 12mil offer by TR

              6. Canela --- Avoided his mando(GGG). Thinks that he is fighting at the weight-class of 155, as there is no such thing as a "155 weight-class" ,he is pretending to be not in the MW division because of GGG. There are 17 divisions just pick one, if you can't make 154 then you are a MW, simple. And then he dropped the belt when he had to fight GGG next, wow

              7. Froch --- After calling GGG out then when GGG accepted ,he backed down and now he is retired after making all the fuss, + GGG was calling him for more than a year b4 he was retired so no excuses for "retiring". Carl said in a SkySports interview he will swerve GGG like the plague, he punches like a mule and there's no point getting in the ring with someone like him.

              8. Ward --- The diva of the 168lb division don't want to travel or meet the a-side GGG in a catchweight so he can become a good boy and get ktfo. Was willing to goto 160 for Floyd but when GGG said 164, Ward ducked + he was fine when Dawson came down a whole division for him but wont move half a division for GGG, smh

              9. Saunders --- Even before winning the WBO title from Lee his fear of Golovkin was as biright as day this is just one of many interviews(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJuwAz-ekoQ), then after winning it he priced himslef out at 6 mil$. Then turned down $3.2mill offer from k-2(its 2.2 gbp)

              10. Eubank jr --- Very similar to Froch's duck of GGG, after calling GGG out he lost his pen when he had to sign

              11. Jacobs --- asked for a life changing money and then said he need 18 months , lol gtfoh. now finally "called out" GGG then when time came to sign, "crickets"

              12. Njikam --- When Hassaan was WBO champ, he was ordered to a purse bid to face Golovkin no less than two times and he was a no show each time.

              13. Barker --- When Barker defeated Geale to become IBF champ, his promoter openly said that he will fight any1 except GGG, Golovkin offered to fight him in England practically free, his only demand was for them to give Team Golovkin 10 FREE tickets, Barker ducked.

              14. Mundine --- Another blatant ducker, google it.

              15. Soliman --- Soliman won the IBF title in 2014 from Sturm, immedietly after winning the title he called out GGG, then GGG fought his countryman Geale. He saw the fight and changed his mind stating he will NOT fight GGG after what he saw.

              16. Zbik --- Just like sturm, protected by Universum.

Kind of give Martinez a pass though as by the time Martinez v Golovkin became a reality, Martinez was on bad knees and he was a sitting duck for anyone (as Cotto showed).

And Cotto was just too small, that would have been a mismatch just on size (and Cotto being past his best as well).

Top Rank's offer of 12m to Chavez was actually a 7m offer to fight golovkin, then a guaranteed 5m for the next fight if he lost, or 10m for the next fight if he won. The 12m was a two-fight deal (and assumed he lost). Chavez only wanted a one-fight deal, and accepted the 7m on that basis. Arum then said that if it was only a 1 fight deal, the offer would be 2m, and thats where talks broke down.

Also Sturm was/is also way past his best and had no business being in the ring with GGG. Sturm 10 years ago would have gone for it, but Golovkin wasn't on anyone's radar back then.

Eubank just has a crazy papa - not sure Jr. even saw the contract before his pa fooked everything up.

N'Dam....how many times did Quillin put him down again ? Now double that vs Golovkin. Not sure anyone ever wanted to see that one anyway.

They all have their stories/reasons. Only one imo with no excuses or valid reasons is Saunders.

Yeah! Team GGG said 168 for Chavez Jr. or Froch, but 164 and 50/50 for Ward!

Jr. has done nothing but embarrass himself and the name. Take what they give you, you're lucky they even consider you. They are doing very well without you.
