Andre Ward motivating the youth

Ward made similar if not worse ratings than Golovkin on cable fights. For an AMERICAN multiple world champion that is not a great mark at all.lol really? You're going base his popularity on PPV buys? That argument is so ridiculously flawed I don't even know where to start. Boxing is a second-tier sport in America, it's not as popular as it once was. How good you are as a fighter has nothing to do with how many PPV buys you do, neither does how 'exciting' your style is, I thought that was common sense?
All boxers deserve respect, but they don't all earn the status Ward has earned. They don't all earn the right to call shots, do things your way.
Also, this is boxing, not a game of chess. If somebody fights you dirty, you do the same. I'm guessing you don't have a problem with Maidana fighting dirty?
You can say he earned the right to call shots, I would say that one year ago he was complained in the media that he was being forced to move up. So much for having things done his way. Luckily for him Roc Nation put in a 5+ millions purse if he fought Kovalev.
And Maidana is not a dirty fighter. And Kovalev is not a dirty fighter. And Kessler is not a dirty fighter.Comment

Bruh I'm a boxing fan, I don't give a **** what ratings he does, that's not my business. What I'm saying is, how good you are or how 'exciting' you are to casuals, are just two of the many variables involved in doing good numbers. Anyway, the bottom line is, I don't care about that stuff.Ward made similar if not worse ratings than Golovkin on cable fights. For an AMERICAN multiple world champion that is not a great mark at all.

Him earning his current status has nothing to do with viewing numbers, it's based on what he's achieved in the ring, the guys he's fought and beaten.
Again, what makes you think I care about his purse man? Why are you so unhappy with him making some extra money, what difference does that make to you? His promoter offered him good money to take a fight, wtf do you want him to do, say 'no thank you, I'll take half of that please'? You people are just looking for reasons to hate man, it's spiteful and irrational.
And Maidana not dirty? I don't even know what to say. Your double standards is beyond belief.Last edited by John Locke; 12-25-2016, 06:54 PM.Comment

Maidana is not dirty at all. The only one that complained about Maidana was Mayweather. The same man who clinched and locked Maidana's arms 90+ times. But hey, if Maidana reacts he's dirty...
Not even Broner calls him dirty. Broner knows he was pressing and holding Maidana's head until he reacted.Comment
