You have to learn to separate things.
this is a very accurate post.

He's boring in your opinion, plenty enjoy his style. Fighters have different styles, I'm sure there are some great fighters from the past you would consider boring.

He fights to the best of his ability, uses the skills god has given him, he's not going to change his style to satisfy fans who have no right to tell him how to fight.

His personality outside the ring has a lot to do with why I support him, not just what he does in the ring. To me it's irrational to hate a guy just because you don't like his fighting style.

I don't see how he's selfish and a liar? He wants things done his way because he's worked for it. He's put in years of training and sacrifice, earned his way to the top. So who am I to tell him what he deserves, how he needs to fight, how much money he deserves etc?

Ward is a top guy, I can never find myself rooting against him.

          Yes?

I can imagine why you dislike him, he was a threat to your idol and exposed his team as double-standard big mouths.

Because things in life are a little bit deeper larry, and you seem to lack the skills to see more deep than black or white, 0 or 1, true or false.

                Bla, bla, bla.

Do really plenty of people enjoy his style? then explain to me how being an AMERICAN amateur star, gold medal, multiple world champion at 168, and "PPV #1" he sells 160k in the biggest fight of his life to determine ppv #1 status?

Clearly most people don't enjoy his style at all.

And for him having sacrificed and so on, well, most top boxers are sacrificed. Not everyone is Brandon Rios or Ricky Hatton.

I'm not going to argue more, there are numerous highlights of him using headbutts, too many clinches, even himself says he gets dirty to win fights.

But yeah, you're right, he's a hero. He's the role model. Bla, bla bla.

Separate the boxer from the person.

lol really? You're going base his popularity on PPV buys? That argument is so ridiculously flawed I don't even know where to start. Boxing is a second-tier sport in America, it's not as popular as it once was. How good you are as a fighter has nothing to do with how many PPV buys you do, neither does how 'exciting' your style is, I thought that was common sense?

All boxers deserve respect, but they don't all earn the status Ward has earned. They don't all earn the right to call shots, do things your way.

Also, this is boxing, not a game of chess. If somebody fights you dirty, you do the same. I'm guessing you don't have a problem with Maidana fighting dirty?
