Should Ricky Hatton add a Trainer?

Not saying he has to get rid of his trainer now, that probably wouldn't be a good thing, but Ricky needs some improving so why not add somebody like:

Emanuel Steward: they are friends and Emanuel knows boxing...he has helped smaller fighters before, even though not everybody knows this since they will train at his gym, get advice, but not have him in his corner. I know Emanuel is better for taller fighters, but Hatton still needs some work.

Freddie Roach: why not? He could teach him to use head movement, throw more straight-line punches, and to actually block

Goosen: he is a guy that is great working on just "tweaking" your style by making it better.

Maybe even Floyd Mayweather Sr.: that would be funny, both of them talking together in the corner speaking the English language would be something

Or how about hiring ROBERTO DURAN
I know this guy doesn't like to train people, but it would be interesting...Do you really think Ricky wouldn't listen to him

Hatton doesn't need improving at all (forget lastnight!), are you crazy? Him and Billy came up with moves and punches that nobody ever did before, and Billy created the best body puncher in the world. Hatton just needs to fight at 140 and fight more regularly again - and then his old skills will come back.

Take his last three fights away, and THAT Hatton is an ultra-talented machine unless you've forgotten?!

A trainer can't help Ricky much IMO.He is what he is and if he adjusts slightly next time he fights a south paw he may do better. He is a hard fight for anybody but will never stand a chance against a good boxer unless his aggressiveness works which iy simply hardly di against Collazo.

I think Ricky would learn a lot by sparring more fighters from the States:

I can't remember his name, he is a real light Russian guy that is in the Karmazin camp, fought a couple of weeks ago, he said that he felt that he has gotten better sparring in the States...it did show because I saw two of his fights, and his last fight, though he was cheated out of a victory, he did look like he leaped forwards in skill.

              Really?

because I have seen many "older" athletes able to adjust, like baseball players_Pitchers and Hitters

Seriously, how hard is it to adjust a bit...I am not saying Change Your Style, just to get another opinion on how to complete his style.

You do realize some fighters have changed or tweaked their styles before

What is this garbage with saying as soon as someone looks less than stellar in a fight they have to ship out their trainer and get in the latest hired gun?

                Two words: Vicente Escobedo.

Hatton has forged a relationship with Billy Graham that goes back over a decade and that is not going to go south just because Hatton won but did not look his usual self.

Hatton will always take 100 percent responsibility for the way he performs in the ring and so he should.

Just wait, HBO will put Hatton in with an orthodox head hunter next time out, Hatton will flatten him and all will be forgotten and forgiven.

So stop with all this trainer must go garbage please.

how about he didn't look his "usual self" because competition has been raised, and when you fight better competition your weaknesses get exposed...a Champion/elite fighter must know how to adapt, to fix what is wrong.

I never said he should get rid of him, but to add somebody in his camp.

Like I said, Emanuel has worked with fighters in his gym, including helping out Vince Phiillips for the Kostya Tszyu fight, but wasn't in his corner for fight time.
