Personally I think he's annoying and comes off as a dumb guido and he has something against Eastern European fighters for some reason and those two reasons alone is why he shouldn't be commentating.

As far as his skill set he has a good jab but that's where it ends every time he steps up and fights a decent fighter he gets beat or just brutally ko'd and we all know he is the most pillow fisted guy in the game, so what's there to praise him for?

Personally, I feel its because he talks **** about fighters they like.

I have the utmost respect for him. There are two types of I have a soft spot for; ultra talented fighters like Floyd, and ultra limited fighters like Paulie, Algieri, etc.

The limited fighters, who have determination, heart and work ethic are super favourites. Paulie has no jaw, no power, yet still became a two time world champ? I have nothing but love for a dude like that. Same with Algieri, who's probably my second favourite active boxer behind Thurman.

Anyway, Paulie ****s on guys, disagrees with popular opinion, likes Floyd, etc. He's an idiot who DKSAB, because his opinion differs to the popular opinion more often than not. At least in my opinion.

Stfu Larry if he talked sh it about Floyd you wouldn't make this thread. He is hated because he talks crap without fact. He is a really good resume and is skilled

              3. He looks too much like "the situation" from Jersey Shore, more than a boxer.
              4. He has a glass jaw and pillow fists; a white Amir Khan.
              5. Conor McGregor has never heard of him.
              6. Al Haymon.
              7. This is boxingscene, half of us will come up with a reason not to like anybody, just to argue with the other half.
              1) Don't care about that
              2) True, that is annoying
              3) lmao
              4) Idk about glass jaw but sure
              5) Don't care about that
              6) Don't care about that
              7) True, but Paulie is pretty much disliked here by all. If only we could agree on things like this more often

Paulie Malignaggi was able to become a two-division world champion and respected pro fighter, in a manner that is entirely the antithesis of the "macho he-man" fantasy that's basically driven the boxing media/hardcore stanbase since basically when Pernell Whitaker was around.

The same folks who are on this site, creaming themselves over a KO win (regardless of the shape the opponent was in when the fight started), see Malignaggi talk the way he talks and beat solid/good fighters behind a jab and a boxing brain and are utterly frustrated with that reality.

in 2007, paulie malignaggi faced the reigning IBF world junior welterweight champion and shut him out.

in 2012, paulie malignaggi went to the ukraine to face the reigning undefeated WBA world welterweight champion and knocked him out.

he spent a decade fighting almost every big name at 140 and 147. won world championships in both weight classes in dominant fashion. not vacant titles. not WBOgus titles. the real deal.

paulie deserves our respect. he won some, he lost some, but he had balls and was champion of the world in two divisions. he kept himself near the top of the sport for a full decade. something very few manage to do.

In other words he called a suspected doper a doper and you're still upset about it.
