deffinetly. hatton actually looked like a monster in the ring a few fights ago. Now thats just his "legend" for lack of a better word. he is known for his ferocious attack in the ring, but he hasnt shown it in full swing in his last couple fights... but he still manages to win because he has that much talent

I never saw the Maussa fight, how did Ricky look in that one? ...if he looked bad there...could he be burned out from fighting too often lately?? 40 fights is quite a lot also...

That was the first Hatton fight I had the pleasure of watching and to be honest I was less than impressed (I'm being nice here). Leading up to this fight I went back and re-watched Mayweather/Gatti and Mayweather/Judah, because Mayweather/Hattton has been everywhere lately. Well with all the talk of Hatton being the end of Floyd's undefeated run I was shocked at how bad Hatton looked. Look, Luis put up a better fight then I figured he would, and maybe I overlooked him as a solid fighter at 147, but I was expecting to be impressed with Ricky and I just honestly wasnt. Hatton looked slow, and he looked overpowered at 147. I've seen the Hatton highlight reel of KO's, but highlight reels could make anyone look good. I want to see a few more of his fights, and am looking forward to his next fight before I pass final judgement on Ricky, but first impressions are important.

I was not super impressed, but he does have one sweet left hook to the body.

He didn't look good, but I really hate how a fighter has a bad performance and everyone starts to try and rewrite history.

Hatton is a good fighter, still young, and had trouble moving up against a pretty good southpaw who is naturally much bigger than him. And let's not forget that he won, also. So don't write him off just yet.

Remember the trouble Oscar had moving up against Sturm? He lost that fight on my card. For the mid-low weight guys, moving up against a decent fighter who is naturally much larger than you can be very tough, especially in your first encounter with that size. Everyone is all excited about Floyd's moving up, but he's fighting small welters who could still be 140. Collazo had a solid chin, and with his defensive style and being a soutpaw, I think he gives a lot of fighters problems- esp if he has a size/reach advantage like he had on Hatton. Even so Hatton matched him strength-wise very well. That just shows you how strong Hatton is at 140.

Just look at Collazo's record. He's fought at Jr Middle limit a few times and above 147 a lot. That's a rough fighter to make your first fight at welter against, forget about being a slick southpaw to boot.

It wasn't that Collazo was particularly good, he wasn't.

It's that Hatton was a useless lump of lard.

it's funny how the article said that he was hurt a few times by a guy with 12 ko's, cotto would kill if he was hurt by this guy.

Dude, Collazo is a WELTERWEIGHT (who fought at 156 in the amateurs!).

Hatton does not have the structure for welterweight, and he can't really add any more muscle because he's been weight-training since he was a kid.

and Cotto is a welterweight, Cotto's body is begging for him to go to welterweight. Watch, Cotto will look spectacular at 147.

yea especially the way he pushed Collazo down and set it up ilegally.
