Comments Thread For: Joshua-Klitschko Mandatories: Winner Could Lose A Belt

The winner of the world heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko may not be allowed to hold both titles for long. Joshua and Klitschko meet on April 29, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and on RTL in Germany, for the former's IBF crown, the vacant WBA Super belt and the vacant IBO title.

This is why we need to have only one sanctioning body in boxing.

Too many undeserving fighters are being gifted belts that they don't earn in the ring. Especially by the WBA.

Joshua should let Ortiz get one of those straps. It will be easy to unify with him later since they share the same promoter. Keep the IBF strap.

Parker was the IBF mandatory after winning to Takam in a final eliminator, not Pulev.

The bulgarian should earn his shot facing a contender in an eliminator. Otherwise, I would consider the IBF a joke, forcing their own rules when they want, and giving title shots to anybody depending on their mood.

If Wilder is able to get the winner then I bet they drop all the belts to make that happen. Its the only fight that's PPV worthy. The other sanctioning org will just keep themselves out of all of that money

Think your overvaluing Wilder, Joshua has plenty of PPV options that would bring more money than Wilder would. Joshua/Haye in the UK would be bigger than the Klitschko fight, Fury fight in the UK would be bigger. At the moment I think a Whyte rematch would be bigger for him.

Wilder needs to do more to make the fight as attractive as it should be

                    A sport of the past

All they need to do now is say 'it's in the best intrests of boxing' as the BWO did.

What a pathetic state the business of boxing is in.

The IFB stripped Fury, who was obviously the best HW in the world after de-throning Klitchko, and let Charles Martin fight Vyacheslav Glazkov INSTEAD!!!
GREAT WORK IFB... Martin went on to become the second shortest HW champ in history, losing it after 85 days!!

NOW they take Parkers mandatory spot away because he has the BWO title..wtf?

The BWA don't care about Ortiz, they are acting in THEIR best intrests by forcing him to fight the winner of Joshua & Klitcho.

In conclusion: Even blind freddy can see all these alphabet org's are acting solely in their own best intrests and not in the intrests of the sport/boxing business.

As long as they continue to do this boxing will be in demise until it is a thing of the past.

                    Welcome UFC/MMA

Goodbye BWO, IFB, BCW, BWA, IOB, BGU, WHP, MLZ, SJR / BOXING
