It's just people's perceptions of street fights are nothing more than fantasies fed by tv, movies, and perhaps ring or cage fights. I practiced hapkido for a year or so, I then moved to muay Thai, after my instructor who had practiced for 10 or 15 years and I was admittedly a beginner with punching...I knew the importance of pulling the punch back as fast, or faster than thrown, well he didn't catch my punch...your body has to move in a more circular motion to catch a punch to get the wrst, arm, etc. A punch moving straight is almost always going to be faster. It's simple physics.

In the case of a street fight. Of course McGregor is going to have more tools, the problem is that, as has been said on here many times, Floyd, or any boxer can only use his hands...but the man has used them since he was 5 years old. Therefore, a mma fighter would have to weather the punches coming at a much faster, AND higher volume before the mma fighter would be able to begin to do his thing. Do these people here think a prime pacquiao, with his power and volume would ever get countered or know what to do against such speed and volume? I think it would be very difficult in a cage, ring, or street. A boxer uses 4 punches that he or she works hours each day on.

Does anyone here think that McGregor would be able to beat a Brazilian jujitsu artist in an all bjj match? I don't think so.

This argument is dumb anyway lol.

Points? Lol he would stop him easily. Conor has no gas. And would be treated like a punching bag

Don't see why that would annoy anyone.

Floyd is a boxer so obviously he's only going to win under boxing rules.

McGregor is an ultimate fighter so obviously he's going to win under those rules and that style of fighting favours street fighting so obviously he'd win in a street fight aswell.

Floyd's not a street fighter or anything close unlike McGregor so who really cares.

You make a really good point about the circular motion used in catching a punch. I studied a little Hapkido while learning Aikido, and it's not as easy as Chuck Norris and then make it look. Especially a fast, straight punch. I got to the point I'd try to make the shot glance off me a little as I'd set up the counter or take-down. That seemed to work best for me.

I like cage fighting, but I think this whole "Conor would outbox/KO Floyd" is disrespectful to boxing. It's like you said about BJJ, boxing is Floyd's game. For Conor, with not that much real boxing training nor experience, to come in and destroy an ATG boxer, basically says boxing ain't sh it. Of all the great boxers that couldn't beat Floyd, for Conor to just jump in and do it, means boxing is a waste of time. To me, its like saying Cam Newton could beat Lebron in a game of 1 on 1.

Floyd was a great fighter but this is all #truth

                  Crawford's era now anyways

Floyd is 40 years old now. He wins a boring UD but if he were to somehow lose via KO or KTFO it would have more to do with age imo. I know that sounds ****ty for Connor, but the dude is 40 and Connor is naturally bigger

Isn't this the same guy who said that a Bantam weight girl known as Ron Derousey was gonna maul floyd in the cage, then that same Ron Derousey got her ears boxed off and KO'd in an mma fight by a former female boxer?
