  • Comments Thread For: Jacobs Laughs at 8-1 Odds Against Golovkin; Using As Motivation

NEW YORK – Daniel Jacobs laughed Thursday when he was informed that Gennady Golovkin has opened as an 8-1 favorite over him. “That’s pretty bad, right?,” Jacobs said during an interview session with reporters at the Brooklyn Nets’ training facility. “So the more, the merrier.”

Why is he laughing? Isn't this exactly why it took time for him to sign up for the fight? What's so wrong in saying like it's a challenging fight, GGG is terrifying, etc?

GGG fanboys saying Jacobs has no chance. Must not have watched his last fight where a Brook a welterweight landed nasty uppercuts and straight rights on him.

Everybody expects him to lose, should take pressure off him. He'll just focus on his own thing.

Too bad he's not a trash talker like Curtis and build this fight up bigger. It's also a shame these two didn't have a fights in December to help build some momentum for their ppv. Imagine if that had been Jacobs who KO'd Blanco last week instead of N'Dam. It's would've built more steam for a Golovkin fight.

I took it as he's laughing because he plan on proving so many people wrong. He did say that he expected to be the underdog because GGG been knocking everyone out. If I have the extra coins to spend/lose, I'll put my money on Jacobs in hopes that GGG got old in the ring. But I would honestly be rooting for GGG to win so that it keeps the GGG vs. Canelo fight alive.

Jacobs better bring his A-game I wanna see a good fight. I believe he has the power to give GGG problems. Hopefully he'll be 195 percent ready for this fight lol haha
