Ridiculous! Commey, his last opponent went on to fight a powerhouse fight with a top fighter in his next fight and Easter fights a garbage fight! The Bounce TV and Homecoming superlatives are nothing but a BS excuse to try to warrant a total and complete mismatch!

Criticizing this sort of thing is healthy. He's a young world champ. Fans SHOULD moan about this. When they don't, we end up with fighters who have tune-up after tune-up. Look at where boxing is at lately.

Easter is one of my favorite fighters right now and he won't lose my support over this fight, but I'm not going to lie and pretend this is good, or even acceptable. It's healthy for the fans to have standards and expectations.

THREE wins in EIGHT fights is NOT acceptable!!! You do not defend a title against a guy who is last on the top 15 rankings at IBF and not even the top 30 in the world and is SUB500 in his last eight!

**** opponent but he's fighting Shafikov next so I'm okay letting this one slide. If Rob beats Shafikov, which I think he will, I would love to see him unify with Mikey, who I think will get past Zlaticanin and take his belt.

Im all for stay busy fights because theres nothing worse for a fighters career than inactivity BUT with that said, my idea of a stay busy fight would mean after Easter disposes of this guy he comes back right away. Lets hope Easters definition is the same...

Commey was fighting for another chance at the 135 belt, it was an eliminator.

I I know it's a mismatch but who else in IBF top 15 was available and the fight could have legitimately have been made?

Commey made a choice to fight THE BEST and was not forced to. Easter made a choice to fight a GARBAGE fighter. It is not about immediately available, it is about fighting top fighters and many top fighters are available in a given period of time. Cruz is a joke selection! Warren on the other hand is fighting a guy who is 26-1 with 20 straight wins and high ranked.

I know this is Easter's first title defense and furthermore in his hometown so they want him to look good, but still they could have found a better opponent. Luis Cruz, who was once a hyped prospect by the way, hasn't beaten anyone in maybe four or five years.
