hopkins will retire. he knwos it is over. he might takeone fight in philly to go out on a win, but he's not like roy jones, who still thinks he can fight his way back to a title shot and wanders the globe getting his eggs scrambled
Hopkins never retired and then returned. Check his record and you will see he had at least 1 and usually 2 fights or more every year since he turned pro until he fought Kovalev. After he lost to Kovalev he took a layoff of over a year but said nothing about retiring, This is the first time Hopkins has said he was retiring. There is no reason not to believe him.
Hopkins retired after the Antonio Tarver fight and Golden Boy even threw a retirement party for him.
