Ward was negative in his approach he never really once in the fight for a round or two took the initiative to go on the front foot be the aggressor, his primarily punch in his arsenal was a good flashy jab but sadly Ward like he has done in many other big fights he held too much and didn't focus on landing enough scoring shots like Kovalev was doing.

These situation aren't even the same at all, Gonzalez is recognized at P4P#1 by many people and he gives us continuous good fights nobody is going to complain with him asking for $800k or $1 mil he's earned it he really did beat Cuadras there was no controversy at all in his fight!

He already explained it. Because the fights will generate more money the second time around, therefore the fighters deserve more money. I don't know how much simpler that can be explained.

It's easy for boxingscene.com experts like you to decide how much a fighter makes, you're not the one who's put in years of hard work, years of sacrifice and you're definitely not the one getting punched in the face.

You do know a fighter usually ends up with no more than 30/35% of their initial purse? So Gonzalez got no more than 130/140k of his 400k purse against Cuadras, in a very exciting fight in which he took a lot of damage. So of course he deserves more money.

Well yeah they're idiots then, Gonzalez should easily be making a few million for the commitment he has put into the sport but luckily he will likely get that payday with a big fight in Japan with Inoue.

Ward should get $6-7 million I just hope he isn't trying to get the type of cash which sees Kovalev earning even less than he did in the first fight.
Tbf I ain't sure how the PPV fight with these two work whether they were earning flat fees or a percentage.

problem is ward's fight lost money so its up to roc nation if they want to lose more. for people who want to see the rematch they should be begging roc nation to subsiize wards losses some more. no one else in boxing can do anything since other people in boxing want to make money(cept haymon)
