never debated whether Texas is a Canelo state. Of course it is, it's a heavily populated Mexican American state. He doesn't seem to get that support from Mexican fans who live in Mexico is my point. He doesn't get the same treatment a Chavez, Marquez, Barrera or morales received in Mexico. Same way cotto actually receives more support in NY and Florida than he does in PR and he's not as revered as tito was. Even American fighters get more respect in the UK or Russia than they do at home. Roy Jones is a legend oversees and is more popular there now than he was in the US while he was in his prime. Canelo may have crossover appeal but as of yet his ppv numbers don't indicate that he's anywhere near what Floyd and pac were crossover wise.

No clue why this fight is in Texas when there are no damn puerto ricans living in texas. Why not have this fight in NY, east coast or hell even Orlando in heavy puerto rican areas to bank on his fanbase. Cotto fills up those arenas and there is just a better atmosphere. Hell you could of staged this fight on the island. Just like it made no sense to have Leo Santa Cruz fight Frampton in NY when he has a huge Mexican and LA following. Also put Santa Cruz at a disadvantage.Comment

It isn't that Cotto has more fans than Canelo; it's that the Mexican media coverage had Cotto winning a comfortable decision, even calling him a monster throughout the fight.
Both PR and Mexico thought Cotto won; it was the American media coverage (under the illusion of a subsequent Canelo-Golovkin fight) which saw Canelo win, with their sole argument being that Canelo was so heavy his shots must count triple, even if Cotto was outboxing him.
I deeply disagree...Cotto was robbed that night.
Kirklank is from Texas........but this should be at MSG if it's gonna be PPV.......which I'm not real sure about.......I certainly won't pay to see it........Comment

Mexican media know their boxing as Margarito clearly outclassed Cotto throughout the fight.Comment

What does anyone's analysis of Margarito's plaster wraps have to do with Canelo?Comment
