Anyone else feels they over marinated Canelo Golovkin already?

I don't see excitement about this fight like there was months before. I think the whole Canelo-Chavez jr conversation didn't help either. Canelo is now a circus fighter with 100% interest in money and 0% interest in showing he's the best MW.

We don't even know if the fight will happen next year and unless both Canelo and Golovkin win early next year by KO, I don't see much excitement or interest. It's like both have moved to better things.

I'm one of those who say that this is the biggest fight in boxing, but the interest lately has decreased. I could assure six months ago that it would make 1.25 million PPVs, now I see it in the 650-750k range, unless they can somehow renew the hype.

    What do you think?

People know it's not happening until September at the earliest. Interest will be there again in the summer. Hopefully Golovkin steps up and doesn't take a $2 mil bum fight on HBO instead.

They over marinate everything worthwhile in boxing these days. Or there is no marination at all with other fights that happen while they are trying to marinate the fight they want to sell every single PPV buy they can possibly suck out of consumers.

Its such a destructive dynamic to the sport overall & turning off so many hardcore fans + distancing the casuals who would come to the sport more often if interesting things happened more often, but everyone in the boxing business is about money & not the sport these days.

I agree. Nobody really talks about this fight anymore because they don't feel like it's happening. Hopefully after May, assuming both of them win, the excitement will come back.

All depends on what happens between now and then. If GGG or Canelo loses, the answer is yes.

It was bigger a year ago because Golovkin was coming off a dominate unification win against Lemiuex and Canelo had just won the lineal title from Cotto. Since then, they both have had garbage years. Both fought one scrub and one welterweight.

I already lost interest in the fight lol. Thats what these promoters dont get, us boxing fans move on quickly, that post-fight fire/heat of the moment only lasts for a month or so after then it fades away. They'll have to do miracles now to GET US FEELING HYPED UP AGAIN in order to support the event.

im not hugely hyped, to be honest im looking forward to GGG shutting a few people up more than the actual fight itself, think people are going to be dissapointed how one sided it is. Andrade coming up to 160 would give GGG way more difficulties style wise, canelo is bread and butter for golovkin.
