Battle for LHW supremacy- kovalev v beterbiev

Two monstrous punchers, two exemplary pro careers so far, who wins out of the battle of 'the beasts from the east' to establish themselves as the clear number 1 of the light heavyweight division?

Beterbiev has to beat a live body at LHW before he can be in the running for supremacy in the division.

He looks the goods but hasn't fought anyone relevant at 175.

cause most people have kovalev as the number 1 LHW, so if beterbiev beats him then hes number 1. Not that hard to understand....

Whether you agree or disagree, Ward won against Kovalev. Unless Kovalev wins a rematch, or Ward decides to 'retire' (in which case he's the biggest puss ever), Kovalev is not the #1.

And I can't agree with establishing Beterbiev as #2, even though I really like him as a fighter. Pimp Stevenson is the lineal champ, Alvarez has been waiting for a shot now, and Gvozdyk has a similar background/style as Beterbiev but with a better resume (Chilemba).

Kovalev vs. Beterbiev would be an amazing fight, but it's not establishing a clear #1.

yeah the pimp was a top fighter but hes too old now really, the momentums gone. Think the winner of kov v beterbiev would be number 1, well would be in my view. Got a feeling beterbiev might shock a few people when he gets his shot at a big name
